I'm curious. What were the PS2's numbers for 05 and 06?

Wii was already spiraling into obscurity before WiiU was even announced. Just look at the massive YOY declines it was seeing from 2009-2011
2009: Down 5 million with a price cut
2010: Down another 5 million
2011: Down 2 million in the first half of the year before the WiiU was announced and that was with the price cut in May
Wii's problem wasn't the knowledge of a coming successor, it was lack of SW.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
I would (sucky) predict lifetime sales as follow:
Wii- 105 mio
Xbox 360- 104 Mio
PS3- 103 Mio
PSP- 80- 85 Mio (So perhaps rapes GBA wich could easily be considerd as a flopp for a Nintendo Handheld)
DS- 155- 160 Mio
Talking about Next Gen:
WiiU- 65 Mio
3DS- 55 Mio
PSV- 45 Mio
I think i am a bit optimistic with PSV/ PSP!

Sales will fall for sure. But not so much the Wii in 2011 and 2012.
PS360 will still receive most of 2013 releases.

I think you're being optimistic for 360 more than anything
