I never buy at launch, never will. Deals always happen the year after. Also, most of the bugs in the system will be gone in 2 years (when i usually buy new consoles)

gamecube owners which were in all honesty very little. also it had wii sports which is really fun and perfect for a first game to own on a console, when you buy a new console the entire family is somewhat excited and wii sports was a fun game to play. all in all it was a good launch
Never buy my consoles at launch, I have to order them from another country and I got no warranty so is risky. Additionally I usually wait for 3 games that I really like before I make my purchase and never pay more than 300 dollars for it, so I got my Wii almost a year after it release it and my PS3 just a year ago.
I am thinking about buying a 3DS in february and a Wii U next november if there is a good bundle.
Somebody's gotta keep the system alive while everybody else waits for the big games or the price launch. That somebody is me.

I'll get PS4 the first christmas it's out no matter what. Hopefully that's this November.
Before this new gen, I'd say I wasn't going to get a new console at release anymore. I got drawn in when I saw the WiiU premium for AU$379 at BigW (RRP AU$429) and decided to buy it. Wasn't a bad idea either, as I checked again yesterday and found that it had gone back up to it's RRP price since, so I got an absolute bargain.
Given the AU$ close to US$ and that our tax is included in the price, does anyone know what extra you have to pay in tax in the US?
Only 11% is going to buy a new console at launch on a gaming website. And a lot of those have more faith in a Nintendo console then ps3 or 360. Maybe Microsoft and Sony should wait until 2014 :/
Considering people don't want to pay more then $400 at launch, 2013 might still be to soon for a significant upgrade with all the extras people expect to be included nowadays.

I don't think people understand that consoles don't need these super high end parts to run the same games that consoles run. Uncharted 3 runs on something with 256mb of RAM for god's sake.
$400 is the max i will buy any console. I also wait a year before purchasing so it can have a decent library at the time of buying it.
but if the PS4 is $400 after being out for a year and the White version of the PS4 is like $450-$500 then i might just go out my way to get the White version..
I hope i can pick up PS4 in 2014 when it has a decent amount of games in it's 1 year old library
I realize now buying a WiiU on launch day was probably a mistake, since most of the games i wanted to play was available somewhere else. Had my PS3 not broke in April i probably would have skipped WiiU on launch. Not really happy that the left analoge-stick on the Gamepad broke six days after getting the console.
Buying a Wii on launch day was not a mistake though, because of Zelda.
