When you make excuses it looks defensive.  As many others has stated this doesn't prove anything because of there is more rumors for the 720 right now.  When both officiolly get announced then this will be a little more interesting to watch.  

I have no problem with you but I dont want a bunch of people coming in here making excuses either like I can search 7 times on 720 and 2 on PS4 or they all have multiple names durango, orbis, (Most people will call them 720 and PS4) etc.  Once one person does it then others will jump on and do the same.  So I'm just trying to keep this thread on track before having excuses and then eventually an argument.

This and its probably US only....Europe and other places except the USA will be Sonyland.This won't change,especially with Fifa,J-RPGs and so on.
In Europe even COD is selling better on the PS3 aka the only reason why the 360 is still doing so great in the USA.

The 360 is nearly "dead" and you hear rumors about the Nextbox for like 2 years now?
Next year the 360 has one Exclusive for 2013 as i read in an article in the last few days while the PS3 is getting still tons of games.
Of course Sony people are interested in the PS4 too but i think they still focus more on the PS3 cause it has still a ton of games coming...High Quality games like The Last of US,GoW,Beyond and stuff for EUrope and Japan.
If everyone is honest to themself there is no real reason to google for the PS4 right now cause the PS3 is still getting strong support.

But there is a reason (for US people) to google the NextBox cause people believe somehow it will get more new games and IPs.
And in the last days you also hear a lot about Halo 23489 and other studios that focus on NextGen Projects for the NextBox.

Hmm time for me to buff up them ps4 stats.

Does your search include if people type Playstation 4 aswell not just ps4?

There may be some correlation between which is leading in search and which will sell the most. However it would be very hard to say that a big lead in search will mean a crushing defeat. Also, this might be predictive of the first year or 2 of sales , but long term through the generation I don;t think this has much predictive value.

Also HDDVD vs. Blu-ray was as do or die thing. There was only going to be one man standing at the end. And search predictions are probably better at predicting a winner take all scenario than a market share scenario.

This actually predicts 360 and PS3, not next gen. Wait till the consoles are actually announced, then this data becomes valuable.

as a mater of fact, i'm shocked your not on my friends list! i didn't make any excuses, just points of observation.

i'm sure you don't think whatever percentage of people searched xbox720, or PS4 did it once or twice right? which means as you've said, we can take this with a grain of salt.

if i were to make an excuse. it wouldn't be in favor of either console. i've always considered you one of vgc'z best, although i may not agree with you all the time.
