It's likely because information is actually being released for 360, and the ps4 rumor mill only just started.

I don't know how sony's advertising is in the East.  It isn't that great here in the west though.  Its not that they dont advertise here, it's just that they are kind of weird is all.  I remember seeing the demonic baby commercial for the PS3 and I just thought Wtf was that.  Even when Kevin butler got insanely popular they focused too much on him that it took away from the game.  Then there newest advertisement with Sony All Stars, it doesnt even look like a game.  It just has real looking models from the game walking around and fighting.  That stuff may work in the east I dont know but they kind of suck with advertising here lol  That is one thing they need to improve on, is focusing on the West.  I know they are trying but they need to do better with advertisements.  Youtube is a great way to advertise now

And isn't that the truth.  I'll end up buying both of them and complain on how much money I've spent haha  But they will be worth it Im sure.

I wouldn't put any stock on the trend for internet searches until we know the final console names for both systems. It is funny though that an arbitrary 'guess' is more popular than the expected progression, 720 being the guess whereas everyone expects the PS4 to be the final name unless something changes.

yeah Sony's advertising has a weird past, those beginning adverts for the PS3 were down right creepy: i.e. that demonic baby commercial. KB was the best thing Sony has come up with, but now even that seems dated...and except for the holidsay season the vita adverts were non-existent, that's one thing Sony really needs to step in this category.

Google also thought people wanted a better safesearch and an added safesearch lock. How wrong they were

Yeah the Vita advertisements actaully seem pretty good here.  They still don't show much gameplay but it has been the best I've seen from them in a while.

All this really shows is that there is more initial interest for the next xbox than the next playstation. Initial sales for the xbox could very well be much higher, but who wins next gen will clearly be decided by who offers the games and features the majority of people want at the price they are willing to pay.

lol, don't forget multiple people people can do the same search multiple time so i'd say this data is inaccurate for both system.

and i'm sure the most of those searches come from the U.S..
