Hopefully it will decline and go away completely like guitar hero did. Despite different settings each time, each COD is really the same thing.

That would be bad for the game industry though?  Also isn't everygame really just the same thing? If anything call of Duy needs to just take there time to make a better game but every game is the same in reality. How is Uncharted 1, 2, and 3 different?

Uncharted got better with each game, it made major improvements with everything, especially the multiplayer and coop. Graphics weren't the only thing that got much better you know.

Apart from addition of zombies/ survival in more recent games, COD is really same game since COD 4, just the scorestreaks thing is that different. Making it a yearly franchise, is having it's toll on the franchise. Had it been every 2 or 3 years, COD would of been a far better franchise, it wouldn't release with a broken network to start with. Don't get me wrong, i like COD but i've had enough of it now, i won't buy another one again, when i can play BO2 or MW3 anyway.

And if Call of Duty goes away, another franchise will become this big. Surely creating something new and innovative for the industry.

That's pretty much what I said.  It's the yearly release of call of duty that is hurting it but as I said Uncharted is the same thing everytime.  It gets better and adds new features but it is still uncharted.  Call pof duty adds new features just like Uncharted but it doens't make the game any better is the difference.  My point was all sequel games are usally just the same.  I just used uncharted as an example because it is an amazing game but it is still the same as all the uncharted games.  That is what makes it uncharted after all.

To me COD, peaked at COD 5 and just got gradually worse since then.

But I personally don't mind sequels, i just don't like them coming too often. I would rather a new game, every 4 or so years like GTA, than a yearly one like COD

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

I imagine the new COD games for the new consoles will likely have a different grahpics engine.

For the COD audience the issue is not graphics its more gameplay....

I hope it dies, quickly. I'm tired of COD games.

If they release it exclusively on next gen it will have low sales because of install base. I think the days of COD breaking records is over, but it will still be a very popular game.

it will be still very successul as long as another shooter franchise similiar to cod can't take all the multiplayer fans away. so, if there won't be a huge success for a shooter similair to cod at release of the consoles i don't see how another shooter franchise could beat cod then.

cod will be there from day one, i'm sure about that and they will directly start to get all of those people to play their game, sales of the next games come almost from alone then because all those players will replace their old cod against a new one.

They'll release the game for both generations. That's what will happen.

I was thinking the same thing

Somone said COD will no longer break records.

Well what is going to?

Apart from Grand Theft Auto, nothing in the industry comes close in terms of intial sales
