I know you love sony, i also have Playstation consoles! I was following this side a while! I posted out sources that the PS2 is discontinued! Is this not enough? This was- as you said my dear friend- JUST A PREDICTION!! They never shipped it! Also the guy on the phone confirmed it! But again! The units wich where "sold" in 2012 where just the final stock! If there is a problem with the source i can translate you! Tudo tem um fim, meu amigo, e do PS2

The news he posted is based in a rumor out due this twitter...

"The Next One game shop in Nabari's Twitter is reporting that production of PS2 is ceasing and anyone that wants to pick up one should before it's too late."

But the twitter was removed and there is no official information...

Apparently, the source of this news comes from the Twitter account of a game shop in Japan, but the tweet no longer exists.

Some sites saved the tweet. Translated into English, it reads: "It appears that the PS2 hardware has finally been discontinued. People who want one should purchase it before stock runs out."

If someone has any other source, please chime in.

 SCE has not said anything about discontinuations of the PS2 yet, although it's entirely possible that they will announce it soon.

They stopped clearing out their stock which means they can admit it now, that they discontinued it! I was studying! I have to stay objective! When i say something i have to put sources in! As i did it in university i do it here! If a higher business person from sony tells me that, i cannot change it! Sorry! There where NEVER been 156 million shipped or sold! This is not crazy stuff! Show me any source to confirm your 156 Million units please! I DO NOT want to hurt anyone but its fact!!

or that, just wanted to say that he is using fictional arguments. as if some sony call-center employee would tell him all of that on the phone muhaha

So the WiiU is now at 1.5million units, depending on supplies the system be near 2.5 million the end of the year.
Which would put it on track to do 5 million by the end of March. would need 334k a week until the end of December, then a little over 208k afterward.

Read my previous message...

There is no official news... the twitter come from Nov, 2012 but after that all the evidences was deleted and Sony says nothing about that.

Anyway even if the PS2 was discontinued Sony may have gotten done at 3 million in the last batch.

uhmm ok so you said you have sources why don't you post your sources?

the sources you posted tell another story and the rest of your source is an imaginary phone call or what?

I am from austria! You can ask everyone at gamestop as well and they will tell you that the PS2 is being discontinued! These 900k figures from 2012 Q´s are not official! IF the PS2 was still in Production sony would have denied this "rumor". But... the PS1 was discontinued after 12 years, and so this is fairly beleavible!

Good opening numbers for Wii U in Japan. Europe and NA numbers are worrying IMO.
