UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object

A UFO is very real!! It could be anything trouble is people always associate UFOs with aliens or spacecraft!

As for aliens I think that in the vast scale and size of the universe it can be naive to believe that we are the only planet with life/civilisation or whatever you want to call it.

I have no evidence of the existence of alien lifeforms but then neither do I have any evidence that they don't excist!

How will it affect religion? What about the reports of miracle occurrences each year for the last thousand of years?

I don't know if aliens exist.

You've just reminded me of the similarities between the UFO debate and religious debate. Since you cant prove that something which doesn't exist 'doesn't exist', then we'll never prove that UFOs have not visited this planet.

It is possible that life exists on other planets, but its likely that we are in the first batch of life since life requires heavy elements and it takes life billions of years to develop which requires a star with a several billion year life span to develop after heavy elements were formed in earlier stars.  That puts our main sequence sun at just the right mass and time scale to where we are among the first planets that is capable of supporting life in the universe.  Add that to the fact that nothing can travel faster than light so if a more advanced alien civilization is out there colonizing then it will take them millions of years to get to us.

Look at it from a mathematical perspective, if the universe is infinite, or near infinite, we should assume from a statistical approach that there must be an arrangement of atoms elsewhere in the universe which makes up other forms of life. They might not even be carbon based like us, but it would be a statistical improbability that we'd be alone in the universe.

What's most likely is that, yes there are other forms of life, both intelligent and non-intelligent, but no they've never been here since the universe is vastly large and most of it is empty.
