Forums - Sony Discussion - SuperBot Hiring For Possible 'PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale' Sequel

Although “Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale” was just released in North America, SuperBot Entertainment is already looking ahead. According to the NeoGAF forum, the studio posted a bunch of job ads looking for several new team members, including an art director and game designer / implementer. The overview section of the art director and experience required section of the game designer / implementer jobs indicates that the developer may be planning a sequel. You can check out some screens from the recently-released crossover fighting game in the slideshow at the top of this article and the snippets from the job ads below (via theNeoGAF forum and Gamasutra Jobs):

Overview of art director job:

He or she will also represent SuperBot to external vendors, IP holders, and the publisher, explaining and demonstrating the vision and how individual characters, environments, or other assets will fit.

Experience required for game designer / implementer job:

  • Must have a near encyclopedic knowledge of modern games, with emphasis on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
  • Knowledge of fighting games, their systems and mechanics a serious plus

SuperBot Entertainment is the main developer studio behind “Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale,” which came out for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita platforms in North America on Nov. 20. Although they are an independent studio, the job ads mentioned that they will still be developing games exclusively for Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Squareenix character plox in the sequel or future DLC.

No surprise there. I figured from the start that this was intended to be franchise meant more for next gen than this gen. I hope they turn it into a bundle game.

Didn't it bomb? How would they be able to fund the next one?

Did the game really look high budget? I mean maybe it cost them a little bit to get the characters but from the menu screen to the in game graphics, there really was nothing to brag about, in my opinion.

The game being in the spot 100 globally after only 2 weeks of sales makes you think it bombed.

Nintendo and PC gamer

wow already talking about a sequel? Shouldn't they at least wait and see how sales and people respond toward the game? It didn't even sell well... But hey if they get a second chance so be it....

What would you consider bombing? This was one of Sony's big holiday games.
