Well done to the 3DS for finishing up YoY.

It only needs 192,169 in the final week of the year to make this target so barring the mayan's being a few weeks out on their apocalypse prediction I'm pretty sure we can all agree that the 3DS has made it.

I was one of the people who didn't think it would achieve this when I started this thread on the 10th December so I guess thats mud in my eye, lol

I say no because there's nothing coming out between now and the end of the year to really show that it can do that.

I doubt the 3DS will make it. There just haven't been enough big games for it outside of Japan this year. NSMB2 is great, but it alone can't compete with another Mario platformer AND Mario Kart at once. Especially since 2011 had more moderately big games than 2012.

Quite depressing really, will mean every platform on the market will end down YoY including one only in its 3rd year, and to make matters worse its a Nintendo handheld which have all been massive success stories so far.

it might have a chance because in US we have alot of discount and bundles ex: XL with MK7 at best buy $159.99 Target $129.99 for regular 3ds(not sure if bundled) Next week might hit 700-800k WW and week after if not after that is the biggest christmas sales!!! Not sayingit will but i say 40% chance !!! I hope so!!!!

This year (at the same time) 3DS is receiving a Mario Kart 7 bundle (Dec. 2), Super Mario 3D Land bundle (already released, but who knows), and a new color Pink 3DS XL (Dec.9). There are also lots of deals this year, a lot better than the Black Friday deals in the pass few weeks. Especially, the $40 pricecut on both the OG 3DS and 3DS XL, so it'll be a challenge for it to top last year. But, I think it'll be close...

Yes, the regular 3DS is bundled. Though, it's the same bundle as last year's just pre-installed. It'll do some good, but not much.
