Guys, what the heck is up with all of this speculation? Hip Hop Gamer said it, it's over, done, finito. Time to pre-order Sonic U.

I agree, those things would be a dream come true for me.

The problem is that I don't expect to see a Genesis-style Sonic game on WiiU. The CPU is too slow to have Blast Processing...

I don't think Nintendo would profit from such an acquisition more so than working with them as a partner. All it would be doing is removing some games from competiting platforms, which probably won't improve Nintendo's position much.

Someone mentioned Square-Enix above. THAT would be a much better move. Exclusive access to Square Enix's backlogue, the ability to have exclusive remakes... It also means that Tetsuya Takahashi would gain the rights to produce an official Xenogears game once again.

RAM is also too slow for Sonic.

But it would be pretty good, buy Sega and let EAD Tokio make a Sonic game. It would be a nice change of pace (get it?). 

Who should get the Shenmue IP? Monolithsoft?

Nintendo should buy Platinum games. My loins tingle at the very thought :)

Those 2 companies would be a perfect match, they both represent the kind of gaming that I don't care about.

Nintendo is probably the only company that could help Sega to make good games again. However, I don't see this happening, there are much better moves Nintendo could do.

Is there any talent left at Sega? I don't know that it would be a good acquisition even if it were true.

As someone said earlier, I'm all for Nintendo buying Platinum. They should turn Platinum into EAD 6 and give Kamiya complete autonomy to make whatever projects he wants.
