Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Hip Hop Gamer says Nintendo is in a position to acquire SEGA

Hip Hop Gamer claims that Nintendo is in a position to acquire SEGA.  I'm sure this has probably come up before, but do you guys think it's possible? and if so, is it profitable for Nintendo?

It would be pretty unsurprising if Sammy wanted to ditch Sega. I don't really see how Nintendo would need Sega, though. I'm sure they could do wonders with Sonic and other Sega properties, but they have their own franchises to worry about. Would they really need more first party games?

On the other hand, it would be a huge blow to Sony.

could be beneficial in taking games from Sony and MS, but not sure how much either one would miss them.  It probably take more away from MS due to them having very few family friendly titles.  On the other hand with Nintendo's direction they may be able make Sonic relevant again.

Well it would give them essentially a monopoly on nostalgia.

Tease.

(insert sega genesis commercial joke here)

It would be an insanely good move for Nintendo. That's like squashing an insect with a bulldozer, but yeah it's big!

Well, Sony would miss Yakuza a lot, and probably Project Diva as well.  Really, though, I don't see how it would be greatly profitable for Nintendo, not unless they could absolutely restore Sonic to its former glory.  Even then, do they need another platformer?

Yes, it's confirmed now that Hip Hop Gamer reported it.

I mean, if there's one guy that's capable of unveiling a global industry megaton, that guy is Hip hop gamer.

If people thought Bayonetta outrage was bad. I want to see what happens if this turns out true or even hinted more openly
