Forums - Gaming Discussion - VGAs 2012 was a let down.. Does it have relevance?

What did you think of the VGAs?

Relevant and Entertaining 16 29.63%

About as cool as MTV 38 70.37%

Total:54

Wow.  Tenacious D,  Snoop Lyon, marlon Wayne. The f*** kinda B.S. is that??? Samuel L. Jackson was the only decent thing about it.  Compounded is the fact that Rockstar didn't choose to debut GTA V at the event.

Dont get me wrong.  I liked the every VGA except this one.  So my question is this. Was this years VGA relevant to the industry? And why?

Around the Network

were you asleep during the other cause one is was the exactly the same as previous years

I thought the augmented reality of last years was a nice touch. This year was like they gave up.

It's only ever been worth it for the new game announcements. Dark Soul's 2 alone was worth it.

As bad as it always is - with exception that 2 non-mainstream, "don't shoot everything that moves" games (Journey and Walking Dead) were in spotlight, so hopefully that means industry is changing for the better.

your telling me last years AR and tea bagging was better than this one live orchestra? Its awards are as relevant as IGN's and Gamespots awards... nothing to us. To the developers that pull 16 hours shifts its very relevant, but its recognition for their hard work. They care.

The actors are never going to go away, its a matter of just being in LA and being something to do with red carpets. They think that they deserve to be on every red carpet.

An indie game winning GOTY award says a lot about the direction the show is going. If they celebrate Journey and leave out tea bagging from call of duty, then i call that an improvement.

Ohh thats so cute. The Spike VGA´s aren´t about gaming, not even the producers know what they are about. The only interesting thing are the announcments. And they always manage to surprise somehow.

I thought it was great.

Hahahaha. The VGAs were ever relevant to the industry? lol

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

For me that was one of the best VGA I already watched... better than some E3 conferences.

This year even the awards were deserved.
