Forums - Gaming Discussion - No new games for WiiU on VGA, this worries me

Dark Souls II as a Wii U exclusive would've been awesome... just to watch everyone's head explode and the fanboy flamewars rage on a thousand times worse than they did when Bayonetta 2 was announced as a Wii U exclusive.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Quick, make a gaf thread complaining about me LOL

Is it dumb for me to hope that they haven't announced it because Nintendo wants to be the one to announce it?

I don't think nintendo is necessarily in direct competition with the ps3/360 in that sense. For the system to be a success, I think it has to attract a faire portion of the 140m people who currently own a PS3 or 360. Although new markets are of course going to be a factor as well.

But it is, as wii fans have been saying for years. It is a console being sold at the same time, of course it is competing.

Wii U is an 8th gen console. PS360 is a 7th gen platform

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Some big multiplatform games were announced today, new MGS, new DS. But they're all PCS360. Why not the WiiU? Its a brand new system, said to be by some to be more capable than PS360, so why doesn't these new games have a WiiU version?

Its something I don't understand, Dark Souls 2 on WiiU wouldve been a big incentive for me to get it on WiiU. It would've worked awesome with the GamePad I think.

What WiiU games are there for 2013 outside Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2? Another Mario?

It seems the biggest multiplatform games releasing next year(starting with Bioshock) are skipping Nintendos new system.

Nintendo is pretty strict about what information third parties give out with regards to their consoles. Moreso on Wii U than on other systems. In fact, the only first-party games they've properly announced that aren't due in the launch window are a game that got shifted (Pikmin 3) and a game intended to emphasise WiiU-to-3DS connectivity (Smash Bros). The only other title we "know" is coming is Zelda, which hasn't actually been announced (just confirmed that they're working on one).

Nintendo probably wants to be able to control when games are announced for their system, in order to try to "optimise" the impact.

Beyond that, it's worth noting that Nintendo has been emphasising the idea that they'll support developers who have unique or varied ideas for using the Wii U. In other words, they're not as interested in straight ports as Sony and MS are. So if MGS5 and DS2 aren't coming to the Wii U, it might be because the developers couldn't provide a strong use of the UPad.

Anyway, I suppose my main point is that it's too early to be concluding that there's no big titles heading to the Wii in 2013.

Oh, and by the way, what about Dragon Quest X? Lego City Undercover? Injustice: Gods Among Us? Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? Aliens: Colonial Marines? There's quite a few notable titles heading to the Wii U in early 2013.

What that has to do with sales today?

I'll ask you again. Do you think that Wii U is not competing with PS360?

"Dragon Quest X? Lego City Undercover? Injustice: Gods Among Us? Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? Aliens: Colonial Marines?" <-- oh bullshit!.. dont try to change things..  third parties are not supporting the wiiU..  those games you mention are fourth party.. and they dont matter.
