Possibility #1 - This has all evidence pointing towards a sequel to Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake that released in the late 80's.

Possibility #2 - Does anyone remember MGS1 for PS1 and MGS2: Sons of Liberty for PS2? Because there is a character in those that has the same DNA (a clone just like the other Snakes) named Liquid. If this is another MGS title then this definitely confirms PS4 for Q3-Q4 launch in 2013 and this game would be in the launch window. Seriously, there is a reason no system was announced because the system this game is releasing on hasn't been announced yet.

Am I delusional, hopeful, desperate? Yeah, probably.

I think its going to be a cross generation game and this game was the one teased as a "glimpse of next gen"

Yes, you are correct. Also there is a slogan from the original Ground Zeroes trailer where at the end it sais, "From FOX, two phantoms were born". This new trailer is called 'Phantom Pain'. Does this mean that the antagonist will actually be The Pain.

There are WAY too many coincidences for this not to be tied to Metal Gear in some way or Next Gen.

I'm definitely hyped for this. Kojima sure knows how to feed the hype train.

I doubt that The Pain will even be in this game.

I read some more theories and a lot of people are theorizing this is Big Boss in the hospital when they take his DNA to create the Snake clones.  Possibly the plot will revolve around Big Boss trying to kill Zero for screwing him.  Either way it appears timeline wise this right ariund the time Solid Snake and the rest are being "born"

Didn't they take his DNA before Peace Walker while this is set after it?

Yeah they did take his DNA before Peace Walker but this particular scene is likely prior to that. Remember in the Ground Zeros trailer both "the burnt man" and Big Boss arent bandaged. This scene is likely taking place prior to the Ground Zero demo

Liquid would be pretty damn interesting but I think the eyepatch beard and hair all point directly to Big Boss

i'm no metal gear aficionado but i saw that phantom trailer on the vgs whats with the british flag on the hospital wall,

cool trailer though, a flaming unicorn and whale,that hospital was getting like silent hill
