Who's that guy on here who is so fervent about PS4 NOT releasing in 2013?

Seeing as every Sony major title is early 2013 (with the exception of Beyond) + the other indicators... I think it's likely that he'll be quite embarrassed this time next year ;)

I'm one of them, because any hardware releasing in 2013 will miss a huge chunk of power compare to 2014 and 2015  if you look at the hardware advancement roadmap on the PC side so if both Sony and MS are rushing their consoles out, there will be a lot of missed graphical power upgrades at the same price point. Which means even if I'm wrong on the release date, I'm still right on when I said that if they release the devices early, they won't be really that powerful by any means, of course I'm speaking from a PC perspective.

Interesting and how did ps3 and 360 compare with the tech of their day when they released?

they were much closer besides the really low amounts of RAM which really sucks, I'd even say they had stronger CPUs compared to the average PCs at the time.

well ps4 in the 2013 fall is very likely now. Sucker Punch has been working on Infamous or new IP for a while now and whatever it is you can bet is for PS4. Next Media Molecule, soon after they revealed Teraway they said that they couldn't wait to talk about their other new IP that totally changes how people think about create, share, play...soon they said. Ready At dawn is working on a next gen. Guerrilla Games' Killzone and their new IP. I think London Studios also working on a new project for ps4. Zindagi Games (Sports Champions) is working a new game for next gen ps Move. These are only the ones that i can remember right now. Of course Japan Studio is working on something wacky and cool.

very good to release it before e3, better for us who want it as soon as possible and also for sony. it looks awesome but if they would show it on e3 against some next gen games it wouldn't look so outstanding anymore which could take a lot of attention away from this game for a release after e3.

not that next gen games will all look super awesome and some will maybe look worse but i expect games which will look at least as good as this or little bit better

I just remembered that if Ps4 launches on fall 2013 it gives the ps Omni rumors a little bit more weight. i believed it said that Ps4 comes best out first. Does this mean that Omni glass are also true?... I am officially intrigued

You think MS and Sony will both let Nintendo get more than a year head start just to put a little more power in their consoles? Keep dreaming.
I'm sure they both have a target release date and they'll have to make some sacrifices. Besides more power means higher price so maybe its a good thing.

I think we already covered that Nintendo isn't going for max power anymore so that's not even part of the equation in this discussion. It's just a missed opportunity because the power jump is huge if they wait a little longer, really huge, and it won't be super expensive, it'd just be newer tech, I'm talking about the jump you want instead of dreaming for.

At the time of it's release, 360 had the best GPU available in the market, and it was on par with high end PCs at the time...I except PS4/720 to do the same

Not if it's a 2013 release, they'd be jumping the gun, if the APU rumors are true, there is noway they'd be on par to even beyond average PCs of right now, let along high end PCs based on amount of wattage requirements.

Rumours about specs don't mean shit

True, look at how the Wii U turned out to be even worse :P but either way, I'm not going to be far off the mark, the 8th gen consoles won't have the power of current high end PCs, the power requirement is too different when PCs are running on 750-1250W+ power supplies doubling as a heater in the room while consoles don't usually push over 300W.
