Just in time to get clobbered by GTAV

Crap, I just realised this...  Just have to hope GTA V comes out the month before

@bananaking21, I am not convinced that is necessarily right. Sony are probably going to announce it before E3, AND, there is a decent chance that there will another Naughty Dog game coming later in the year, assuming the Uncharted  team keeps to a 2 year schedule. Added to that, the strong possibility that this won't actually be a big seller, I am not sure they really have to save it for the holidays. AND AND AND, Sony doesn't tend to release its main games in the holidays, sure Uncharted does, but very few others do

Uncharted, GT, Ratchet and Clank

GT comes out 1 or 2x per gen, Ratchet is no longer a major franchise.

If I were to name Sony's main franchises, they would be probably be God of War, GT, Uncharted, Killzone and....? As I said GT barely comes out and Uncharted is every other year (and should end). Killzone and GoW are both Spring releases

So basically, Sony don't actually have that many big games and they tend to not come out in the holidays.

Who's that guy on here who is so fervent about PS4 NOT releasing in 2013?

Seeing as every Sony major title is early 2013 (with the exception of Beyond) + the other indicators... I think it's likely that he'll be quite embarrassed this time next year ;)

Yeah, to think that Sony will let the Wii U have two whole years lead on the market and the nextbox one year (like last time) is absurd. They can't afford that, they need to get the PS4 rolling as soon as possible.

My main concern is this; will there be a single worthwhile launch title on the PS4 and nextbox or just CoD and other 3rd party crap?

Bah! This is all fake! Sony cannot afford this kind of graphics in their financial situation!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

R&C was a good seller though. I mean, what have they announced for the end of next year? We know nothing, and they're sure to be focusing on GoW, Last of Us etc. early in the year and come E3 it will be all about PS4 I think

R&C WAS good, not so much any more

What did they have announced this year? I think PSASBR was announced midway through last year.

Essentially, off the top of my head Naughty Dog and Guerilla should have games to show next year, possibly for Christmas release, I don't really think we can read anything into this release date as all. I think an Autumn 2013 PS4 is likely, but I think this release date proves nothing

And don't forget GoW 2 came out after the PS3

I'm one of them, because any hardware releasing in 2013 will miss a huge chunk of power compare to 2014 and 2015  if you look at the hardware advancement roadmap on the PC side so if both Sony and MS are rushing their consoles out, there will be a lot of missed graphical power upgrades at the same price point. Which means even if I'm wrong on the release date, I'm still right on when I said that if they release the devices early, they won't be really that powerful by any means, of course I'm speaking from a PC perspective.

Dude you just named 4 franchises when the other companies have 2 or 3 each so don't follow up by saying "Sony doesn't have that many big franchises". Now Mario and halo are bigger than anything they have but Sony has a lot more support franchises like ratchet, infamous, resistance, heavy rain, war hawk, and many more.  Also littlebigplanet is a major franchise I would say.  Sony just needs to fix marketing to let people know all the awesome games they have

They don't sell well other than those said franchises. I may be exaggerating slightly, but I still maintain that this means nothing about the PS4 release

Interesting and how did ps3 and 360 compare with the tech of their day when they released?
