Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does it seem like the vita is getting more games than the 3ds?

I realize the 3ds (which has been out longer) has more games. But why are devs going full steam ahead on the vita which is struggling to sell anything. But it seems they are not touching the successful 3ds with a ten foot pole.

3rd parties are starting to realize (at least Namco is) that they are the ones that can make the vita viable, so to counter act slow western 3DS and upcoming Wii U game sales, they are going to make an effort to make the vita more competative than what it is currently in japan, im my opinion.  3rd parties cant make nintendo handheld consoles successful and they are more likely to have their game skipped over for Nintendo's games (except the games that can withstand their own, like monster hunter and dragon warrior), so look for more vita titles from 3rd parties next year.

As for the question at hand late december/january is the normally thetime companies give festivles and shows to announce games for the first quarter and you are seeing that with some of the lesser known 3rd parties.

True enough, but that doesn't disprove my earlier statement.

We round to the closest, so 10 it is. Not even close to 9

Your statement is only true (for you) if you believe it.

And you don't. Or else you would be trolling a lot of Vita games.

So Namco is feeling altruistic and wants to make the Vita thrive?  Sorry, trainwreck, this just sound ludicrous.  The premise isn't even true, it's just spurge's own perception based on message board banter.  The 3DS gets far more support than the Vita.

what noticable game released for the 3ds in the past 2 months and compare them to the vita's. i find replies like these pathatic, because you clearely cant reply with a informative smart reply and chose to put a gif of a man laughing instead. this gif just screams your inability to repsond with an actual reply. as i said, pathatic

Name some games, bananaking - like I asked you to above.  Because there are a lot of noticeable games that launched for the 3DS in the last two months.  And don't try to weasle your way out by saying  'x 3DS game isn't noticeable because I'm not interested in it".

Also, lol at moving the goalposts to *only* the past two months.  I don't think that will help you much anyway.

Im not arguing about the 3DS getting more support than the Vita, im stating that vita (in Japan) will get more support as a fallback from lackluster sales from the west.  Namco is the only one so far, sega and konami to a lesser extent.  Capcom and Square Enix  both have vendettas aganist Sony at the moment so their support is going to waver and no i dont think its far fetched at all to think that way.

Can you provide a list to show this exactly.  All I've seen recently are a bunch of ports announced.  Ports count though.

in that logic ps3 is only getting 360 ports as well and vise versa with the exception of halo, uncharted etc . Need for Speed is a game for a vita/ps3/xbox 360/pc. why would you call vita's version a port and not the 360's for example? its the same game released on multiple consoles. same with PS All stars. Add to that LBP, AC : L, and Ragnarok Odyssey (released in the west now).

Vita got great hardware and its gonna show some good looking visuals in next year which will overshade the 3DS games and 3DS won't have enough power to get that much quality after next year & gets outdated.

VITA GOT QUALITY and 3DS HAS QUANTITY.

People love quality over quantity and its just one game like Journey is enough to please the purchase of Vita.

This type of comment should be bannable, imo.

I don't even want to see your other 3 posts here in VGChartz, as users usually evolve posting... and if this is your current level...

(don't judge other people's "quality" standard, please)

you really should, tis good stuff. Xbox might have had the most sales on black friday... but they don't mean anything because no new IP launched on black friday!!1 Sonys ps4 has beaten the xbox's successor on processing power andddd Oh yeah ps4 will launch with every game every gamer has ever wanted. It's quality stuff.

Other than that tho! I do legit think it's because you do here every upcoming game being talked about a lot more, it was the exact same with the 3ds all the way up til the launch of Mario 3d land and Mario Kart 7, People were just on the lookout for that killer ap(hate the term). It's a bit shitty really on the individual launches because the Vitas new games are now all being looked at with the future of the system in mind and being reviewed as such. Assassins Creed Liberation sold a ton of units but people still looked down on it for not doing enough to save the vita and sell systems, that shouldn't have any bearing on AC:L as a stand alone game.

Every time i look at the vita thread there is a new announcement, game, dlc, etc. How can a sytem that is struggling so bad get more dev. business than the 3DS? Does sony have some hold on devs? Does not seem like something they would do.

because most of 3DSs games are exclusively built for the system and most of vita games are multiplatform with psn/xbla/PC outside of sony first party.  its the advantage of not trying to be unique.

Well the OP is obviously wrong, and the anti-Sony fans are wrong as well, nobody is celebrating obscure releases.

As a guy who owns both, there is nothing out next year for either that im pumped about, LM for 3ds and KZ for Vita. Thats about it.

@OP maybe you just dont like the 3ds?
