Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does it seem like the vita is getting more games than the 3ds?

The Vita is getting games with high metascore at a faster pace than the 3DS. However people is buying the 3DS, and even you were interested in it. Nintendo must be using dark magic or something.

Bold: Exactly...

Underlined: Again, nothing to do with my post, but keep on digging. I am interested in all consoles, but ultimately must choose the best one for me. I didn't pick the Vita either if that's what you're thinking.

I know, but the fact that somebody who prefers Sony first party games over Nintendo first party games and know the games the Vita does have considered to get a 3DS before a Vita speaks for itself.

The PSV has so many quality games that Sony decided to bundle the console with a 31 Metascore game. And another bundle with a ~70 Metascore game. Metacritic proves points, I can see it now.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Maybe it's because they celebrate every single obscure niche game even if it hasn't any chance of releasing outside of japan. I don't care for games like Senran Kagura on either platform but it is very funny how the shinovi game is treated as the second coming of our big busted lord jesus christ around here.

Honestly man, when I first saw this post I thought it was hilarious and then got increasingly more worried as people kept replying with "this".  I mean, are you genuinely being serious?  If not, I apologise for this rant in advance.
It's alright for VicViper to get excited about every single Japanese 3DS game, then, but suddenly posting news of Japanese Vita announcements in the official thread for Vita suddenly makes it "celebrating every single obscure niche game" as if it's the "second coming".
Just take the offensive that you're on down a notch.  I mean heck, I read Siliconera and the Vita thread.  Put two and two together to make 4, not 5, and you'lll realise they're just responding to this news.  Feel free to go into the Vita thread and see if you can find people getting excited about playing Senran Kagura.  I think you'd struggle.  Ironically, there are a few people in the thread who have expressed an interest in importing various titles because they can actually do that since the console isn't region locked.  Giving each Japanese announcement slightly more traction than an obscure 3DS announcement.
Look at it logically.  Vita is generally regarded as having no games.  Vita selling poorly in Japan.  Vita gets a shit load of announcements for Q1 in Japan.  People in the Vita thread are generally owners and fans of the console.  Do you think they're perhaps more hopeful about these games helping Vita gain traction in Japan so a few bigger names come to the console that have more chance of being localised in the future?  Perhaps they're just looking forward to the console getting some sort of sales spike in Japan next year (this is a sales site after all)?  And there are inevitably a few posters in that thread who are fans of Japanese games and bought a region-free handheld so should be free to celebrate these announcements if they wish.
Or not, since it seems to bother quite a lot of people.

Why so defensive? Did you just mistake me for VicViper? Looking at it logically, the PSV sells bad, so it can't have more and/or better games or it wouldn't sell bad.

It would have sufficed to say that you disagree with my statement since I don't care about your wall of excuses and justifications.

this thred is based in the "blind perception" spurge have over 3DS and Vita, to be realistic i think he is trolling here because reality shows week by week the oposite to that "perception of the market" spurge have... LOL

i think he doesnt like how 3DS is doing gamewise, but he loves Ninty so he cant bring himself to admit he doesnt like one of their products

Please don't make blind statements if you're unable/unwilling to back them up when you're taken up on them, then.  We can all make ridiculous claims if we're just going to say "I don't care about your excuses" when someone justifies when you're wrong.

(I'm glad you like my signature, though)

I don't need to back up my opinion and you can't prove it wrong.

Just admit you were wrong!  :P

And how is BLOPS2:D more noticeable than Style Savvy (fasion botique) when it sold less?  ;)

It didn't. Declassified outsold it in 2 weeks...

On the GAF thread, extrapolated Declassified numbers didn't look very good.  Unless you have other data.

EDIT: Nevermind, that would be just for standalone.  Forgot Declassified was bundled.  Only way my statement would be true is if we looked at worldwide sales but even that depends on how many people are duped into picking up Declassified.

Im not arguing about the 3DS getting more support than the Vita, im stating that vita (in Japan) will get more support as a fallback from lackluster sales from the west.  Namco is the only one so far, sega and konami to a lesser extent.  Capcom and Square Enix  both have vendettas aganist Sony at the moment so their support is going to waver and no i dont think its far fetched at all to think that way.

Capcom and SE don't have vendettas against Sony. This is a really lame excuse to explain why they're not showing support. They're not showing support because the sales are bad, not because of some conspiracy. It's not like they're not supporting the PS3.

OT: I did a search through the threads and it seems the major announcements recently are DoA5 and One Piece Musou 2. DoA5 is a console port and OP is also on the PS3 (and will obviously sell the most on the PS3). There's also some niche Compile Heart game. So 2 games also on consoles, one niche exclusive. I don't think it's very indicative of anything. Plus I'm sure you can cherry pick weeks where it seems like any system is getting some more significant (I use that word lightly) support than the others. It's not always a trend.

Um...Final fantasy versus, FFX HD (given DQ 7 already has a demo and thats upscaled from ps1 graphics), ripple for FFXIV late arrival on the PS3 (was supposed to be released 2 years ago to coincide with the pc launch), spreading thin of kingdom hearts, problems with Final fantasy type 0 (Sony refusing to fund SE in anyway), seems like the two have a rift to me.

Capcom more for whoring their monster hunter series from PS3 to Wii (citing developemnt cost, but releases a game like dragons dogma), keiji inafune debacle

Its a ridiculous assumption. Half of the Vita games dont even leave Japan aswell.

From next years list see the difference:

For Vita:
Dragon's Crown
Killzone Mercenary (I'm especially excited for this one)
Soul Sacrifice
Dead or Alive 5 Plus
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

For 3DS:
Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem (new footage from Nintendo Direct looks awesome)
Luigi's Mansion
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Brain Age

Vita: 2 Ports of PS3 games, im assuming thats a new Sly cooper as i dont follow the series, but it would be 3 exclusive Vita games.

3DS: 5 exclusive games and a port. Also these exclusives are the size of Castlevania, Luigi's mansion and Animal crossing and the port is no less than Monster Hunter 3G. The last 3 will probably outsell all exclusives Vita will have for the year. This is also not counting Bravely default wich has been trademarked already for the west.

The 3DS is a smashing sucess in Japan, its garanteed to have plenty more titles announced to it next year. I think this is just another case of denial. Dont get me wrong, i want a reason to buy a Vita. If it had full backwards compatibility i would already be planning to get one, but those argument are too weak and everyone can see through the desperation.

umm you do realize your list is incomplete for vita yes? I won't comment on the 3ds line up cuz honestly have no idea about what's coming to it other than a few titles. But yeah look up the vita games list for the coming year

and you are wrong actually. In fact the track record for localization of JP games for vita has been absolutely fantastic.
