Forums - Politics Discussion - How to legally get pot in Washington state: "If it falls from the sky, you can have it."

http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/05/us/washington-marijuana-legalization/index.html?eref=igoogledmn_topstories

The gist of the article is that while personal posession and use of up to one ounce of actual marijuana, 16 ounces diffused in a solid (pot brownies) or 72 ounces diffused in a liquid, it is still illegal to sell it outside the medical marijuana system, or grow it at all, so there's an interesting legal limbo there, that unless pot brownies drop out of the sky, you will have committed a crime in acquiring that otherwise legal substance.

Oh, and the Attorney General said that their stance on enforcing the Controlled Substances Act isn't going to change, so you'll still commit a felony level offence for, for instance, possessing or smoking pot in a National Park in Colorado or Washington State.

Statist i may be, but this is just silly. Laws passed should have provisions in them to make them not self-incriminating. It's like if someone gave you the power to breathe fire but didn't give you resistance to the heat of your own fire.

So... pot is not legal in Washington and colorado? I thought you can buy it from the store now and it is enforced like alcohol? With a few unique provisions.

In Colorado they have a much better developed infrastructure for this, and the laws have the required secondary components.

Haha, this is why I tell every bragging Washington resident online the Colorado law is better and they agree. I cannot wait to start growing next spring and to visit the pot shops again come January.
