RedLynx's downloadable racing game reaches platinum status eight months after launch; new Riders of Doom DLC inbound.

Trials Evolution has sold more than 1 million copies on Xbox Live, publisher Ubisoft and developer RedLynx have announced. The game released in April on Microsoft's console and needs to sell an additional 1 million copies if it wishes to reach sales of its predecessor, Trials HD. That game has sold 2 million copies, but notably, that figure includes sales of the game and its two expansion packs.

In addition to announcing sales for Trials Evolution, Ubisoft also revealed that the second wave of DLC for the game will release later this month. The Riders of Doom expansion follows October's Origin of Pain content and will cost $5 at launch.

The Riders of Doom DLC adds 40 new tracks to the game, including a new environment inspired by the end of the world. A new vehicle--the Banshee--will also be up for grabs in the expansion, as well as "hundreds" of new editor objects for the game's level editor.

It is much better.  Probably my personal favorite out of arcade games this generation.

You can be different and artsy, but the good ol quality core titles are a staple and the gamers will always pick games like this.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I download the free Tribes (F2P) from Steam but I have yet to try it out. If you ask me Tribes set the standard. Halo is only following in its footsteps. I was playing Tribes 1 on ISDN back in late 90s with more online players and vehicles than Halo could dream of. Halo copied Tribes.

Sorry mark one up being drunk.  I thought Trial Evolution meant Tribes: Ascend....  I'll look into to this Trials Evolution now though... That is about the only good to come of my post.  edit - MotoHeroz looks to be a better form of this genre.

I'm not drunk and I also assumed the thread was about this.

Well at least I'm not the only one.  If you ask me it looks like MotoHeroz copied this gameplay but made it better.  I had a lot of fun playing with friends on MotoHeroz.  However, I have seen this game before but only watched someone else play single player.  Perhaps if I played this game multiplayer I would have more respect for it but the fact that it spawned games such as MotoHeroz makes me accept as a good game.  However, if you look back this is just a semi copy of Excitebike.

Arguably the best XBLA game this year.
