Since when is this delayed lmao. They always said it was gonna come out in spring, I didn't expect otherwise.

Seriously...people need to clean up their quote trees in this thread.

Regarding the delay...
Just the other day I heard people complaining that Zelda WiiU and Metroid WiiU had not been given release windows. They suggested that Nintendo was terrible about marketing and that they needed to let people know what was coming and when to build up anticipation.

And now...we have a thread complaining about the worst thing a gamer can complain about: delays.
The only bad delay is the delay that leads to vaporware. More time devoted to the game you can't wait to play is never a bad thing. It isn't like them putting more time into it will raise the price. You'll simply be getting a better product, and probably at a time when you actually will be able to squeeze in the time to play it.

This game is looking amazing. It's on almost all WiiU owners must have list. Given the previous titles in the series, the amount of time they're taking to make it, and the new control interface, I don't see how this game doesn't end up with 9.0s across the board.

What else is new? Welcome to the world of Nintendo... where games that are already finished get delayed.

This basically confirms that Nintendo has no other big titles coming out in the first half of 2013, which is why they are stretching their "launch window" games as wide as possible to fill the void.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yeah I'm guessing Pikmin 3 probably in April and Wonderful 101 in May or June.

They need those two games to fill out Q2, the sad thing for them is neither is likely to be a big seller.

The "big boy" games Nintendo is counting on like Super Mario Universe and Mario Kart U and the Retro project (Yoshi's Land?) probably won't be ready until late summer/fall.

Anybody expecting a Metroid game or especially Zelda within the first 12 months of the Wii U's life needs to seriously get their heads examined.  It's going to be a minimum of 3 years before we get a new Zelda title, and Metroid, while it may be unveiled at E3 next year, probably will get pushed to 2014.

Typical Nintendo.

Iwata makes a big fuss about the post-launch period being incredibly important.

Nintendo quietly delays the two big games they had for Q1 2013 (Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101).

Which will then be followed by the inevitable Iwata apology when sales hit the skids next year.

Then followed by games that release in insurpassed quality.

Sounds about right.

I think the "rage" is coming from the huge anticipation of this game and the silent hope that people had had that Pikmin 3 would've been available launch. And now it's been moved from Launch window -> Spring. Which isn't that big of a shift, to be honest... But it seems a lot bigger when you could technically say that there really isn't a HUGE NINTENDO IP GAME for the Wii U yet... (although some would disagree with this, I know.)

But how could you not be in huge-fanboyesque-anticipation for this game after seeing this last E3...?

d'aww....

Well they can sit there and watch their sales sink even further.

The PS3 has God Of War, Grand Theft Auto V, BioShock Infinite, etc. coming in the first few months of next year for example.

The Wii U ... has crap all lined up. It's going to be the same story for Nintendo ... post-launch drought with a big drop in sales. Same thing happened with the 3DS and GameCube. They don't have a Wiimote + Wii Sports craze to bail them out this time.

Iwata will be stuck in late March apologizing to investors again for a weak post launch Wii U period and missing sales targets, making the same types of excuses (we couldn't get Nintendo TVii finished on time, not enough content, need to work more with third parties, blah, blah, blah).

I dunno. The Q1 lineup is nothing to scream about, but I definitely wouldn't call it a definite death sentence.

The Wii U Zelda was rumoured to have begun development in 2010, with an expected 2014 release date...

So yeah, 2015 sounds about right.
