Things would be so much easier if we were tracking comics instead of video game sales.

There's only 1 distributor for comics so you get actual numbers released every month..

No, you'd still have problems.

You'd still have the challenge of ship vs. sold.  Your comic distributor only deals with shipped, not sold.  As comics routinely flood the market and are "dumped" this would be a problem.  Especially since when some comics are dumped in the retail channel, they have a tendency to find their way into the trash or as excess inventory.

You'd get a number no more accurate than we have with games and gaming systems.

Still no PS3 numbers from Sony?

You're dealing with an industry that isn't run by big chains like video games so the comics shops orders to the distributor are actually closer to their sales ( and a lot of comics shop actually have their customers preorder their comics too.)

The time of the 90s with publishers flooding the market and the collector boom is over.

The best comics these days have a circulation of 140-150k or so....

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I would not expect it, Sony does not give numbers anymore. I would say wait for shipments, but Sony does not give exact numbers anymore, except for milestones.

I've updated the OP with everything we know so far.

I'm glad to see Need for Speed undertracked.

Fair enough.  I knew it had been a problem.  Didn't realize the era was over.

Calling it!

Sony had a 21% drop in sales with 710K this November in the US.

Pachter just said on VGAs that Blops 2 on WiiU had a 5% attach ratio.

Approx 25k?

Source? Or just guessing?

Wrong thread.
