"Wii U: Following its launch on Nov. 18 and with only seven days of sales captured in the data, Wii U sold more than 425,000 units, nearly matching the Wii system’s first-week total of 475,000. On the software front, New Super Mario Bros. U sold more than 243,000 units, an attach rate of nearly 60 percent.

Nintendo 3DS: The platform kicked off its second holiday season by selling nearly 540,000 units and has now sold nearly 6.5 million units life to date. Additionally, Mario Kart 7 became the second Nintendo 3DS game to cross 2 million units sold in the U.S.

Wii: In its seventh November, Wii sold 420,000 units and has now sold more than 40 million units in the United States alone.

Nintendo DS: In its 97th month overall, Nintendo DS sold more than 370,000 units and will cross 53 million units sold life to date in the next few days."

So the whole SW thing is pretty much good sales for Mario, NintendoLand and (perhaps) ZombiU, and everything was from meh to bad.

Expected, really. And obviously the system was only out for a week and sold 450k-ish. Some SW can easily sell over 1mil in November, so it's not surprising the WiiU SW is pretty low.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Around the Network

Nintendo did ok.
3DS did meh-ish.

"nearly double" could mean anything. PS3 sales could be at 700k for all we know.

Given this some more thought...and nearly could simply be refering to "nearly selling double all other consoles" where PS3 is one console it did not outsell by double. PS3 numbers could quite literally be anything between 630k and under 900k.

The nearly part does not actually mean PS3 numbers are close to half of 360 number....but this is being really technical :) and im showing my fanboi colours...whoop whoop

So the ps3 is overtracked by up to 87k using vgc numbers. Will have to wait for numbers to see how much it's overtracked.

Last year the ps3 sold 895k, so the absolute maximum it will be down YoY is nearly 30%.

What do you base that on??

1.26/2 = .63

.72-.63 = .9

No i get that but you are assuming PS3 sold "1.26/2 = .63"

Which is wrong. All we know is that PS3 is above this but below 900k (last year numbers).

Its obviously not close to 900k but PS3 could very well be at 700k, 710k, 680k, 650k etc. so how can you claim PS3 is overtracked by that much? It makes no sense.

So the ps3 is overtracked by up to 87k using vgc numbers.

He's providing the maximum it can be overtracked, he doesn't mean it's exactly that number.

GAF have Wii U at 427k... maths on spot.

Everything seems to be in line with our numbers, except WiiU software. NSMBU being overtracked by 30% is quite a bit.
Obviously other SW could be overtracked as well.

360 still mighty impressive in its 8th November.

Seems like an excellent 3D Mario is actually a far better system seller than a mediocre and rushed 2D Mario.

Numbers out util now...

Xbox 360: 1.26M (-25.9%)
Nintendo 3DS: 540K (-32.1%)
Nintendo Wii U: 425K
Nintendo Wii: 420K (-51.1%)
Nintendo DS: 370K (+5.7%)

So, 360, PS3, Wii and Wii U overtracked?

What information that has been released indicates the Wii or Wii U are overtracked?  All we know is the 360 outsold them combined, which is gels with the VGC numbers.  Also the "nearly 2x" is too ambiguous to make any definitive conclusions, but they fit within that too.

That "nearly 2x" is a mess.

What Iwata and Miyamoto will say in the review meeting.
