I would second the HD 7950 or the 7870 but I personally suggest the former if you're going this high end. The reason is that the next generation consoles are heavily rumoured to be based on the same architecture as the AMD card and the consoles themselves are rumoured to have a LOT of memory which makes the extra 1GB RAM potentially quite useful.

this. 7950 all the way. its the best card for in that price range and it boosts like a boss

Ya, especially with overclocking but I can't find him HD7950 for $230. The cheapest I see is $280.

That case you linked seems too expensive for $100. You can get Corsair 500R for that much: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139009

The current nVidia family is like the GTX 2xx family back when the Radeon 48xx was kicking up a storm. The Radeons are more forward looking and have better compute for games than the nVidia family so when the next generation games come out they will likely show a lead as more heavy DX11 features are used just as the GTX 2xx family were more forward looking back then even though the Radeons at the time looked like better picks.

Tease.

@BlueFalcon thanks for your comments. Yer not in a rush as I am moving to a new apartment soon. So mortgage will take up most my pay haha,

Also not sure what the space will be after I get all my other crap inside, so I am kind of considering a gaming laptop instead however for the same money a desktop PC has much better specs.

My day to order/build got pushed back to late January/early Feb. Kinda annoyed right now. On the plus side, I'll be working with a bigger budget then. 1200-1500. Won't have to cut so many corners.

How much does the shipping and tax usually cost? Im not from the states so i don't know how much this adds to the cost.

Tax for me is 6%. I've ran into 7% a few times before.

Shipping varies.
