I don't really like turn based jrpgs because the game play is dumb to me, but I've had my eye on NI NO KUNI for a while. The art looks great.

lucky for you then its not turnbased and actually more Action JRPG-ish. You can see all enemies on the field and when touched it innitiates a battle sequence. When that starts you control one of the default characters and can move freely in the arena. You can alternate between familiars(pokemon like monsters) or the actual characters. The game play is easy to get into but tough to master, I like it. Much of the gameplay surrounds around the familiars when it comes to battles, outside of that you will be required to use spells for small puzzles on the map. The game ignites a lot of nostalgia for the old PS1 JRPGs that allow you to travel and explore freely.
I have my copy reserved already at Gamestop, cant wait for January :D

It does have some of the unfortunate jrpg traditions, such as inconsequential random battles to slow you down. You can avoid most of them on the world map at least.
Q1 is going to be awesome with Ni No Kuni, Rayman Legends and Sly Cooper. Great relief from all the throat stabbing and head shots this holiday season. Time to get some balance back.
