Does GameSpot have 100% of their Wii U stock?

I can confirm that Gamespot has 0% of their Wii U stock.

I can also confirm that Gamestop has 100% of their Wii U stock in stock.

Would you like to bet that in a max of 2 days this will be out of stock?

I'd take that bet because my target has had their wii u's in stock since pretty much right after launch

I would probably take that bet, to be honest.

Here is a question for those with a Wii U: is Nintendo Land going to blow up big? Wii Sports pretty much made the Wii when it went viral with the casual crowd. Seriously, I can't tell you how many non-gaming adults I had come into work and tell me about this crazy new game that told you if you were over-weight and it let you play tennis and how they went out and bought one the next day. Does anything with the Wii U have that kind of potential?

I hear Nintendo Land is a lot of fun but fun doesn't always translate to casual interest.

Nintendo Land won't take off like Wii Sports did. There some things fundamentally different that will not allow it to sell as much.

The first thing is simply, the name. Nintendo Land.

Wii Sports defined the Wii console. Nintendo Land defines Nintendo the company, not the Wii U itself. It is like Smash Bros. in terms of combining the world of Nintendo into one game, but it does not have instant identification of Wii Sports.  If I were to ask the question "What is Wii Sports", a person will say a Wii game where you can play tennis and golf etc. BAM, Quick understanding of concept.

Can you do that for Nintendo Land? No.

Wii U will stay in stock and will never be sold out again once we hit next Spring. Isn't it crazy how we all acknowledge that Wii U cannot surpass the Wii in hardware sales? Why are we all so accepting of this FACT? Shouldn't we all expect Nintendo to create the games necessary to make Wii U sell 125 million units? Just something to think about. Either way, I hope that in the very likely case that Nintendo does once again make giant mistakes and release games we don't necessarily want, they will then grit their teeth and make the titles that will sell those consoles and get EVERYONE, not just gamefreaks, excited about video games.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

This has already been discussed to death. Nintendo learned from the original Wii so supply is higher but demand isn't as high as the original. If you wanted a Wii U it's easy to find one.(No need to buy an overpriced one from ebay)

So?

On its own being in stock at a particular retailer is meaningless and what matters is whether Nintendo can get the sales they want/need; and (realistically) what Nintendo needs from the Wii U is different than what they had with the Wii.

Ultimately, I have to use the 3DS and PS-Vita as an example ... By launching earlier Nintendo was able to address the problems people saw with the 3DS (primarily its high price) before the PS-Vita launched, and they were then able to capitalize on the mistakes Sony made with the PS-Vita; and now, almost 2 years after the 3DS launched, it is realistic to say that the PS-Vita stands no chance of catching the 3DS and the primary battle the PS-Vita faces is not "failing".

Nintendo doesn't need record breaking sales, they need to sell reasonably well and fix the problems people have with the Wii U before Sony or Microsoft release their system; and then they need to capitalize on the mistakes they make to become the lead platform in the next generation.

Been reading a lot of people who bought multiples to resell in ebay etc not being successful. Some users actually sold their units at a loss (small loss mind you..like $3 bucks iirc)

This could be either lack of demand or ninty doing a much better job from the supply side of things than with Wii. Or could be a mix of both as I have heard some areas being sold out while others aren't. Too early to call it either way

ps: I saw this pic earlier today of a lady with around 6-8 wiiu units in the back of her van...which she bought to resell....she is gonna have some trouble
