20th Century Fox still owns the movie rights to X-Men, and Sony Pictures Entertainment still has Spider-man. Disney distributed The Avengers not that, that means much as all the non Spider-man, X-Men, The Fantastic 4 and Ghostrider are all produced by Marvel Studios which is a self contained semi-indipendant production company that has been building the Marvel film universe long before they were aquired by Disney. Marvel Studios is responsible for all things marvel movies that dodn't have existing licensing deals, that is why The Increadible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and finaly The Avengers all have interconnected elements.
