have you tried another copy of the game? could be a fucked up disc

Happens on other games as well, not only UC3. Updated topic.

Im starting to see the harsh reality though its still speculation at this point: I think thats how the new ps3 is performing and its not an actual "problem" ...

That is really freakn' weird, there  should be enough QA to control them to be the same spec, it's hard to think that Sony could fuck it up like this.

Man, this looks bad. Maybe I should get the Slim after all? Do you know if the Slim is still in production?
Still, I'd like them to solve it fast and buy the Super Slim without worrying. Don't know if I should wait or get a Slim... Ehh...

Yes, plenty of Slims still available (here in North America anyway).  And yes, you should definitely get one while you still can over the super-slim, no question.  It's far better in every conceivable way, IMO.

Not that much of an issue, I'm sure you can easily find and old Slim in most stores. Easy to find online.

If you do buy the Super Slim and there is a problem with it, you should be able to return it and get another one at the same stores.

That's shitty but it must be a hard drive problem as the other models of PS3 play these games fine, as nothing has really changed about the PS3 except that it's just smaller now

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

I know they are still out there, just wondering how much longer. Cause I'd rather get the Super Slim, but if it's not working properly, that changes everything. I'm wondering how long can I wait for information about Sony fixing this issue and not risking getting stuck with a malfunctioning Super Slim if they never repair this. All in all I like the Super Slim, I don't mind the idea of the sliding cover (kinda retro and I'm not the youngest of gamers) and the smaller size is important for me, since I do travel for longer streches of time and like to take a console with me. My PS2 Slim accompanied me to many countries :) I think that regular Slim is huge and I'd also lie if I said I liked the design...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Strange issue, my friend and also my sister got a super slim and they haven't mentioned any issues so far.

I found out this:
http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Technical-Help/Uncharted-3-stuttering-New-Super-Slim-500gb/td-p/17801296/page/3

apparently the Hitachi HDD in super slim, sux:
"The Z5K500 suffers considerably when it comes to performance, however; its read performance is middle of the pack but its write performance is downright awful. Furthermore it has a high average write latency, which hurts performance across the board."
Because games like uncharted are writing to the HDD almost all the time, it suffers from the above issue.

Why would Sony use this HDD then? Well, at least changing your HDD should fix the problem then.

Well its pretty obvious: low manufacturing costs...

The thing is that now i have to buy a new HDD = more expenses for me :(

Yeah, that obviously sucks. Still cheaper than buying a new PS3 though.
