Forums - PC Discussion - Why in the blue blazes is every Rockstar game on Steam , region locked?

Max Payne 3 is 5 $ now , and I can't buy it because of region lock, and I also read that people cant gift it to me , because of region locking, the thing is I can't find the PC version of this game nearby, and I am too lazy to get to far away and pay 90$ for a game that is supposed to be 60$ (and now less), plus waste time on going there.

Other games that are region locked are Batman AC , and Prototype 2 (1 is region free ironically), and also every rockstar game (I got GTA IV on GFWL)

I don't really see the point of region locking digital content, its just plain dickish.

Probably, but Steam is better.

I have no problems with Rockstar games in Argentina, but Arkham City isn't available here and I bought it thanks to a public proxy from US (search for some on hidemyass.com). Last time, I couldn't buy Dark Souls this way, but maybe you're luckier.

Yeah, it sucks.

I wanted to buy AC, they didn't let me. I wasn't going to beg or overpay, so... I did what needed to be done.

also max payne 3 is 14.99 isn't it? where's it say 4.99. I rented it and I'd give it a  7. But I'd wanna play it on PC again for 5 bucks.

People have told me downloading from them works if you add a US address, yes and I even got to check out when I tried it (didn't buy).

I just did this, It worked downloading now.

now I don't remember who lives in Jordan that I bought a gift for, but that person is going to be billed (linked to my account anyways)

holy hell its 26 GBs !

Better question should be....why is GTA Vice City still unavailable D:!? Surely it doesnt take this long to remove one song off a radio station...?
