What's the point in review games, cars, movies, music?

how is the voice chat an issue? You just click the app select a friend and it works I thought.

The review is pretty shoddy. At one point they state that the gpu is well known and then they proceed to tell us nothing about it. I can't believe a credible source hasn't provided details specs for the system yet. How can you review a console without knowing detailed specs.

They mean the fact that you gotta plug our mic into the gamepad even if you are using the classic controller pro. It's really not a big issue though. I place my gamepad near me and plug my headset in and play with the classic pro controller...

Yeah, I saw this yesterday.  I agree with some of what he said but I certainly wouldn't give the console a score under 8.0 even in its early state.

However, his final comment: "The Wii U is truly unique. When the software is half as exciting as the hardware, it'll be a force to be reckoned with" shows that he recognizes the potential, and that's something I'm in complete agreeance with.

Also, I don't understand why people are disappointed by the fact that the controller charges via an outlet.  It would have been great to also let you charge through the console USB, but given a choice I'd take the AC adapter route any day, simply because you don't have to keep the console on to charge it.

its very strange nothing but the ram speed is out yet!

OT: I really like the stile of the OS, very smooth and clean and they will most likely make it load faster with more updates in the coming months.

We can't know the specs, because all leaks about specs come from assembly plants in Taiwan and China. For phones and tablets and earlier consoles it's possible for those people to do outside measurements and read chip ID numbers and match that to off the shelf things from other manufacturers. Like how we know the iPhone has a certain GPU.

But in this case the CPU and GPU are fully custom and there's no way to tell just from looking at the chip surface exactly what kind of thing it is.

Also we can't run arbitrary test code on it like we can for a phone so objective benchmarking isn't possible right now.

All we really know is Wii U GPU > 360/PS3 and Wii U CPU < 360/PS3

Reviews should be done at the end of a consoles life......I thought people need brains to do anything?
