Forums - Gaming Discussion - How will Sony fans react if PS4 is not the most powerful Next Gen console?

What will Sony fans think?

Not care about the graphi... 221 45.10%

Be dissapointed 173 35.31%

switch to the most powerful system 95 19.39%

Total:489

It really doesn't matter to me. Of course I'd be disappointed though.
All I'd really want is for it to be competitive with the next Xbox.

LOL @ people saying PS1 and PS2 weren't the most powerful....that is partly true, but both brought forth amazing technology. PS1 was the first to do 3D and use CDs. PS2 was the first to use DVDs. At launch, these consoles were beasts. I guess this is all I ask about the PS4. I want it to an amazing piece of hardware(and software) even if the next Xbox launches later and surpasses it.

We won't care!

720 fans would be the 1's going crazy for graphics while saying sh!t like "what do you PlayStation fans have to say now" while trying to rub it in

I wonder what the generation would be like with MS having the most powerful console? How many games would be used to take advantage of its power and how many multiplats would be taking advantage of its power?

Hmm..

Sony fans have been treated this generation to arguably the best looking games this generation.   Titles such as Uncharted and God of War are loved not just for stellar gameplay but also for their cutting edge console graphics.  Anytime we talk about great graphics Sony exclusives are always noted for their great presentation.

But what happens if next gen Sony doesn't have the most powerful machine?  What if the Next Xbox is far more powerful?   Will Sony fans h3 dissapointed, not care, or possibly convert to Xbox?  Im just curious Sony fans opinions on this since they seem to care the most about graphics.

I disagree with this. Uncharted does not have great gameplay, in fact it needs much improvement IMO. What is does have is great characters/story and amazing graphics.

The possibilites of the next Xbox being "far more powerful" are highly unlikely. There are reports of Microsoft making a Kinect 2.0 and if they bundle that with the console...it won't be cheap. Kinect is a huge part of Microsofts next-gen plans for sure, so I'd think the next Xbox will have sacrifice some power to be more affordable.

"Amazing technology" =/= powerful consoles, which is the point of this thread and how people will react to that.

I think they would shrug their shoulders in an incredibly aggressive manner. In fact, chances are that they would care so very insignificantly that they would make the day of that announcement the unofficial "Fuck Keeping Day".

Now, the Sony fanboys on the other hand...

I will simply not buy one, its that simple.

I'll honestly be a little disappointed. My most played console of this gen is the PS3, and it has been nice having the best looking games out there. It won't bother me that much, but the graphics whore inside of me will cry a little. It's still unlikely though, the worst case scenario is that graphics will look slightly worse than the Nextbox.

Would you buy the 720 in place of it?
