This story, in a nutshell

Yeah, if you prefer Japanese games, I got a feeling you´ll be very happy with the Wii U (I think it´s gonna do very well among J devs)...Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest are already planned for the system, for starters...just cross your fingers they´ll get their heads out of their asses and actually localize more games.

Well at least we are getting monster hunter. Dragon quest has a chance on 3ds but I wouldn't like to say about wii u. I think that is why nintendo secured monster hunter and dragon quest. Japanese support tends to be good on nintendo anyway so expanding on that is a good move. I think that is why Iwata said "we can't promise it will be supported for eternity". He expects western developers to start jumping ship himself. Which is what I've believed would be the worst case scenario when this reaches it's conclusion.

As for the comment about unreal 4 I think 'next gen' engines are being built with flexibility in mind and not something to push power anymore. Developers will want to port engines to smart phones and tablets next gen because I don't care what anybody says. I am not convinced xbox, playstation and pc alone will be able to sustain most of these companies in the next generation. Some are already closing because of ps3 and 360. It doesn't make sense to keep building things on power when you are more and more risking your business.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

Remember what Epic's Mark Rein said this summer about the Wii U. Here is the quote about Unreal 3 and 4. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/07/unreal_engine_4_ports_possible_on_wii_u

You saw games at the Nintendo press conference again this year - a fantastic demo by our friends at Warner Bros. showing Arkham City running on Wii U. And Aliens: Colonial Marines is coming on Wii U, that's also Unreal. There's, I'm sure, several others. Mass Effect [3] was announced for it as well. So we're certainly playing a role there with Unreal Engine 3.
I'll state that I don't think it's our intention to bring Unreal Engine 4 to Wii U, but Unreal Engine 4 is going to be supremely scalable. We'll run on mobile phones and on a wide variety of things, so if a customer decides they want to port an Unreal Engine 4 game to Wii U, they could. But Unreal Engine 3 is a really good fit for that platform.

it doesn't matter what links you give people they will still only believe what sounds good in their minds!

yeah... just look at that guy.. VGking he only comes when he see negative things about wii U or nintendo systems, and forget the positive things  developers say, and the fanboy negative rumors are facts for him... but that always makes me lol hahaha

34 years playing games.

The WiiU is currently the most powerful console on the market, this dev reeks of laziness right now. If you paid attention to the article he made it sound like he only saw an early version of the console devkit. He also made it sound like he had trouble with even ps3 development and I was pretty sure the cell was the stronger cpu over the 360. On a sidenote but somewhat similar I recall the Jak and Daxter Collection on PS3 not running at 1080P. SOnic Adventure 2 Battle, a few other HD remakes, ZoE I believe. And then I see the HD remake of the vastly more graphically intensive Monster Hunter Tri running in full 1080p on the WiiU. Maybe it doesn't mean anything but more than likely it does. Fanboys on the internet want the WiiU to fail so bad its sad, of course it wont, but grasping at straws helps them sleep at night.

And When the 360 launched, all it really had going for it over the previous gens top games was resolution. People were debating whether Kameo looked better than Twilight Princess. Doom 3, Resident Evil 4, Rebel Strike, were games that looked just as good or better as 360 launch titles. It took developers a while to get the hang of things. Considering the WiiU is running these highly optimized games that took 7 years of knowledge to create, on par or better, out the gate says, or rather should say, plenty of the power of the console.

Games are fun.

This thread is delicious

This kind of comments make me very happy about cancelling my Wii U preorders. I am now almost 100% certain that Wii U will be a huge failure.

Not going to happen

Is this the first non anonymous developer who trashes the system?

Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken) also remarked about the CPU being slower than PS360.

But whereas the Tekken dev stated, "the clock is kinda low" and "we have to come up with creative ways to get around that", it sounds like 4A is more disgruntled about it ("a horrible, slow CPU"), and pretty much gave up due to the size of their team, amount of time it could take, etc.

It's unfortunate that WiiU's CPU has limitations when compared ditectly to the HD twins, but I'm really not too worried.  After all, the SNES could handily out-perform the Genesis graphically despite a similar problem.

Okay, where is the dribble coming from. I have the Wii U, PS3 & 360 and I can tell you that the graphics on Blops2 are in no way, shape or form worse than the 360 version, so obviously, the system is at least as capable. This was a quick and dirty port of the game and it looks at least as good if not better and functions perfectly. I own all the system and love playing on all of them. I'm sick and tired of the biased BS in these forums. If you're a true gamer and don't own all of the systems, you are only doing yourself a disservice. If you can't afford them all, fine than buy the one you will like the games most on, but whay do you feel the need to go into topics on the other systems and cause trouble. It seems like these forums are filled with a bunch of 12 year olds.... If you go into a forum for a product that you don't have or like and talk smack about it, that says more about you than the product. What a bunch of losers.

We've seen the comparison shots, it's almost like a completely different game. Stop lying.
