Im lifting weights (10kg) about 50 mins (25 per arm) per day about 4-6 times a week. Am i overtraining?

You´re only working out arms... You should only workout your arms once a week. If you do Triceps and Biceps separetely than Twice a Week.

Do you feel like you're overtraining? 25 minutes per arm sounds quite much to me though. Do you do different exercises during that time?

Yeah but i don't do it all in one workout. I do 10 min right hand, then switch to 10 min left hand, then 8min right hand, then switch to left for 8 minutes again, and in the end 7 min each hand, whoch adds up about 25 minutes per arm. And yeah, it's mostly same exercise for biceps

I do about 3 series of 25-35 push ups and 20-25 dips, usually after 35-40 mins of sit ups, with 10-15 min break between exercises

Exercises are not the problem. Dips and Push Ups are two of the best exercises to build a massive chest and arms.

But you cant do them everyday, your muscles need time to recover, every single muscular group.

If you have time do it like this:

Monday : Push Ups

Tuesdays : Abs exercises

Wednesdays : Dips

Thurdays : Abs (if not sore)

Fridays : Push Ups

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: Abs

Than the other Week change dips by push ups and do 2 days of dips and only 1 of push ups.

This is a good routine if you work with intensity but if you really want to gain muscle you should check out this routines and get a set of dumbells and Weights.

This migh be good for you to start:

http://scoobysworkshop.com/intermediate-workout-plan/

i dont do it that way thought, here is mine.

Friday: Chest, Back, Biceps

Saturday: Legs and Abs

Sunday: Triceps and Shoulders.

I already Work triceps on Chest Day so i do them on Sunday so i can work them harder. During the Week im at College its difficult to Workout i dont have anything but i do Push ups on Tuesdays and Abs everyother day.

If i had the time i would work once muscle a day.

Monday: Chest

Tuesdays : Lats

Wed: Legs + Abs

Thursday: Shoulders

Friday: Arms

Saturday: Cardio - High Intensity

Sunday : abs + Low Intensity Cardio

If you dont have that time you can allways do like this:

Monday : Chest, Biceps or (Triceps)

Tuesday: Abs + Cardio, High intensity.

Wed: Legs, Shoulders

Thursdays: Abs + Low intensity Cardio since your legs will be recovering

Fridays: Back, Triceps or (Biceps)

Saturday: Cardio, High Intensity

Sunday: Abs + Cardio, Low intensity.

Wouldn't i get stronger faster and more efficiently if i workout same routine every day and give my maximum strength each time ?

For the record, i don't aim to get all incredible Hulk or Arnold Schwarzenegger, im just aiming for a good looking definition and nice structure (something like Bruce Lee only less bulky)

Awesome thread man. I've just started going to the gym again and I am loving it.

Lots of good information here too, I'm not really into bulking or gaining major muscle mass, but I do need the reminder to do some weight work otherwise I will just become too scrony.

Anyway thanks for putting the time into this. I hope this thread stays positive and people can help motivate and reinforce each other, as oppose to endless arguing over which exercise method is more effective (although nothing wrong with some healthy debate).

yeah man its amazing! You just feel better for training!

No man, thats just overtrain you muscles need time to recover and rebuilt... You will not get Stronger by doing push ups everyday, you will just get injured.

Thats why you should work different muscle groups and give others time to repair, it takes 5-7 days to a muscle to repair completely.

As i said do Chest/Biceps on Mondays, Wednesdays do Legs/ Shoulders and Friday Back/Triceps. Repeat every week, this is what will give you strenght and muscle as you see you are not working out the same muscular bodyparts and you are giving them a full week to repair.

On the days i didnt mention do Carido, High and Low intensity depending on the day, after leg day never do high intensity cardio it will overtrain your legs but they day before you can do at least i never had a problem, also do abs every other day, per example on tuesdays, Sundays or Thurdays.

DONT FORGET TO DO CARDIO AT LEAST 3 TIMES/WEEK.

Please see this video about overtrain:

Summer is 9 months away. A new body is created in 9 months :)

Some time ago I've been jogging and going to gym in 3 day cycles (day 1: gym, day: 2 jog 10 km, day 3: rest). It improved my stamina, but the results were really far from what I wanted to get. After that I started P90X and BOOM! A six-pack appeared after 7 weeks :) I don't waste time or money on gym, save the time I wasted on travel to and from the gym. The results are really there, the coach is goofy and very nice, he keeps you motivated all the time. This program really works. Now I'm a P90X and Insanity graduate. I'll be starting P90X2 soon as well and I recommend these programs to anyone who want's to work out but doesn't know exactly how to perform the exercises, doesn't want to waste money on a gym and get great results after just an hour a day. P90X is the best thing ever for me :)

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
