What are the negatives of streaming?

the cost of having BC will be too high if they choose to go without cell this time. I think Sony is being cost conscience this time and i think that is smart. Let PS4 games sell PS4. I understand BC is a huge convenience for many gamers, but it may cost alot more than I am willing to pay. So before you let your expectation fly away - breath, relax and think. Do i really need it?

Fourth PS3 hardware revision CONFIRMED

Unless the PS4 has some for of Cell Tech, its very unlikely it will have BC with a Disc based PS3 game.

The AMD CPU they are talking about using (Rumor of course) should not be powerful enough for full emulation anyway. The Gaikai streaming service idea sound MUCH more inline with Sony's usual business practices.

It doesn't need PS3 B/C.
Who buys a new console to buy last-gen games? Almost no one.
So increasing the costs of the system with B/C is not necessary.

Someone betta tell SONY before the rest of those HD collections hit the markets!

i always said they should not bother with backward compatibility built in, but rather design the console with a hardware expansion slot and sell it as a separate feature.

that way they can keep the base cost for the console down, and earn some extra money by selling the expansion.

All new consoles should be BC imo. With the large failure rate of consoles this generation, it would really suck if you lost the only console that can play your games.

Don't really care about BC tbh.
