Forums - Gaming Discussion - This is why me an other PC gamers gets annoyed by console graphic debates

First off if you are going to call me a fanboy then you can call me a Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, and Gears fanboy.  Just because I have a logo of two microsoft mascots does not mean im a fanboy of the 360.  Just means I like those games just like I had a logo of MGS4 before.

Regardless the debates about how much power the 7/6 year old technology gets highly annoying.  If you are going to talk about graphics then stop talking about the power behind the 360/PS3.  neither one is powerful.  At most it is cool that the still look decent after so many years but until they look like this please stop going on about how the 360 is jesus and PS3 is God.

Crisis has never looked that good on my PC

Geez, a bit overkill don't you think. Comparing 7 year old consoles to what is likely to be a $500 GTX 580 or 590 GPU running crysis.

Who is going to argue with that?

We get it, the current gen consoles.....tez con'tzt competez! Now, stop giving the rest of us bad names! :P

No people want to compare graphics well here you go then.  I'm tired of seeing threads about this kind of stuff.  Halo and forza thread just a few days ago which apparently makes the 360 a magical beast and then you have motion capturing on the ps3 and beyond and apparently nothing tops either one.  If people want to be annoying about graphics and senial then I can do the same thing.

What is that on Wii U?

Calling 7th gen consoles powerful (by today's standards) is a bit silly, I'll admit, but I don't see why graphical discussion should be limited to only high end hardware. Hell, I find it quite interesting to discuss Wii graphics and that thing wasn't even high end when it came out.

For me it's more interesting to talk about the way devs work around the limitations of hardware than to just talk about milking a muscular super-cow full of juicy parallax-mapped milk and 1080p/60fps hormones.

That video made me feel a bit dizzy. Also, poor turtles ):

See this doesn't bother me.  I don't mind when people say hey this game looks good like Uncharted, halo, god of war etc.  They look good for consoles and that is great, but when they start talking about the power of a console it just shows fanboyism in my honest opinion

I understand what you mean but most people can't achieve that on their PCs so they can't be wowed like you do unless they watch some video on Youtube. It's ok if people are amazed by 6/7 years old consoles... watch them's jaws when next gens graphics starts. So for now, people are wowed by consoles and it's ok.

PC graphics usually don't look that much better. They have HD textures and such but beyond that they pale to the quality of huge console games. Halo 4 looks great not because it is pushing polygons but because of studio's immense talent.
