How did they dupe you? What have they told you about their product that turned out to be false?
I was talking to a friend today after she picked up her Wii U and she was shocked by how negative EBGames staff was about the Wii. She liked the Wii (and she likes her XBox 360 and PS3) and doesn't understand why people are angry at Nintendo for producing products at a reasonable price and focusing on developing games/features that consumers obviously want.
Nintendo didn't promise bleeding edge graphics with the Nintendo DS, Wii, 3DS or Wii U they only promised new gameplay experiences; and Nintendo delivered. They (obviously) ran into a lot of roadblocks from third party publishers which prevented the development of a lot of "core" content for the Wii but, being that this content existed on the Dreamcast, PS2, XBox, Gamecube and PSP and that these publishers are now producing similar content for the 3DS it can't be said that lack of processing power prevented the creation of these games; and since many (weak) developers produced games in these genres that played fine but had (typically) weak content it can't be said that the UI prevented these games. Releasing after publishers dedicated resources to HD console games was a huge problem for Nintendo made worse because Nintendo didn't have a strong enough relationship or sales record with third party publishers to encourage strong support.
We don't know whether their efforts have been successful or not, and we likely won't know for sure until the generation is well underway, but it seems like Nintendo has taken steps to avoid the same mistakes they made in the last generation.
Ultimately, you can choose to buy a Wii U based on whether you want the hardware or not, but the only person who mislead you about what the Wii was is you.
