Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The best Wii U function.

I can proudly say that (for me anyway) that the problem the Wii gameshad with HDTV's has been fixed with the Wii U now emulating it. Xenoblade looked like complete ass on my tv, but the Wii U makes it look great. I will test Zelda and Monster Hunter next because they looked even worse.

My Xenoblade disappeared. =(

But it's good to hear that it DOES upscale! Last I knew they were saying upscaling wouldn't be included!

I don't think its upscaled but I do not know. It just seems to stretch it to my TV properly whereas 480p Wii could not.

Yeah, I gotta hear the SS result!

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

This doesn't affect me. I'll be using my Wii for gamecube so I'll keep it out for Wii games instead of moving on to Wii U.

-my personal edit. Apparently some people can get confused and think I'm flamming. To clarify the Wii U cannot play gamecube discs while the Wii can. Since I have many gamecube discs and play them occasionally I'll need to leave my Wii plugged up. Because of this it makes sense for me to just play my Wii games on Wii instead of on Wii U.

It should look 1:1 the same provided you were originally using component cables and proper settings. It does not upscale.

Can't it be that your TV that does a better job upscaling the signal it gets from the HDMI input rather than the components one?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

It won't upscale but won't the output be at 720p or 1080p with the HDMI cables?  I have no clue but I just picked up a Wii U so after patching for a hour or so I'll give it a try.

It defiantly looks better through HDMI. I was ussing proper cords for my TV it just looked terrible no matter what. It must be the HDMI.

That has to be it, some HDTV's handle 480 like crap.
