Forums - Gaming Discussion - what decent games from the current gen do you think were underrated?

Since there seems to be thread on some franchises being overated. I want to know what games from the current gen of consoles you though were underated and why.

I will say a couple.

1. Sleeping Dogs~ although it was got good reviews and was a brilliant game in every way. Good and funny characters, cool story, decent amount of extra stuff in the game except the story.  It undersold for what it was.

2. Enslaved~ another great game because of the gameplay, story and apocalytic setting but again ignored.

3. Vanquish~ fun arcadey TPS set in the near future that was ignored pretty much.

First one that comes to my head is the Scribblenuats series.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Transformers: War For Cybertron
Mushroom Wars
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
When Vikings Attack!

All I think were underrated because of lack of sales.

Edit: Also Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle i think was underrated because nobody ever talks about it or even seems to know it's even alive.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

They're not underrated, they are overlooked. You might wanna change the thread title.

Plenty of people liked these games. Add Binary Domain to that list.

Audiosurf. Should have been way, way bigger. One of the most fun games I've ever played.

I don't know if it qualifies, but Valkyria Chronicles. Amazing storyline, beautiful art, and gameplay that's a lot of fun.

It's kind of funny, but if you asked me this awhile back, I would have said Borderlands. I used to preach that game to anyone who would listen. However, it looks like a LOT of people bought the game when it was cheap, as BL2 pretty much exploded. I'm glad to see it made the big time.

I wasn't creating a list, i was just saying games i thought were underated and asking people what they though were underated.

But, also i think the Yakuza series outside of Japan is underated too (sega should be known for more than sonic!)

Most of them were under played more than underrated.
Metro 2033, Dead Space 1 and 2, Valkyrie Chronicles and Alice: The Madness Returns

Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.

Jokes and hating aside, the game seriously and honestly has a really -really- unique and fantastical atmosphere, unconventional but addicting gameplay hooks (that actually work great, too), insanely humorous characters and dialogue, interesting environments, and really neat music and sound effects.

For the kind of game it is, it's got great production values, and while playing through it and discovering all nooks and crannies, characters and secrets, you really get a great sense of all the dedication, effort and fun the devs poured into the creation of the game. I honestly couldn't wrap my head around how deep and engaging the whole affair actually turned out to be when I was playing it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in adventure games.

Oh, this is a good 'un. I need to get this back from my Bruvver, since I had only played about half an hour of it before he swiped it from me. I liked what I saw during that time, and I have to love a game that made me crease up with laughter (Zelda's "open chest theme" played on a ghetto blaster was a highlight). It feels like a Paper Mario style game where the writers have more freedom to be cheeky.
