Vita failing would really solidify the fact that people want low quality sub-par handheld experience on mobile/3ds.

Vita success would obviously be good for the industry. I'm not sure developers love working on shovelware.

Ehm, as it stands, no game on Vita game has enticed me to buy this system while my 3DS library is growing at a faster rate than any handheld I've ever owned due to the amount of high quality titles pouring out. As I've seen no Vita game which definitely looks superior to a 3DS game either, I'm still left wondering what this supposed 'high quality' is supposed to be.

I agree on the mobile point though, Vita games are of higher quality than mobile games, but as it stands; 3DS = Vita x 10. Apparently I'm not the only one, as sales show.

That's how almost every Vita owner feels too (about Vita instead of 3DS of course). For those of us like me that are interested in it, the great games just keep flowing in. The system already is fantastic and Sony has convinced Vita owners that the content just keeps coming, they just need to convince everyone else.

As it stands; Vita = 3DS X 20. Apparently people don't like good games, as sales show. ;)

Good games are subjective to each individual tastes.  Just because you deem your choice of games good, doesn't mean others do.  I would think that sales do equal the quality of a particular product; as a product wouldn't sell if it doesn't have merit to it.  Obviously you prefer Sony games (nothing wrong with it) and he prefers Nintendo (nothing wrong either); I for one prefer Xbox and Nintendo games (nothing wrong too). I believe the post is just showing a subjective matter of Vita's current situation. Nearly a year after releasing worldwide (a month left in Japan)  Vita's sales are quite anemic (I'm being nice) . I see no other alternative for the system except a huge price cut to drive/push hardware (that hopefully pushes software) or Sony writing off the system as a failure and focusing whatever resources they have on releasing PS4.  Just my 2 cents.

Still cant believe there are still people in denial about the vita's vita...

Just today I told my friend who was a huge defender of the vita as he heavily defended it from the start.. and I showed him the example of blackops .. vita's "saviour" that it was DOA.. a massive fail of a game.. and he agreed and finally admitted his huge disappointment of the vita..

It is better to trade it in now guys while the trade-in price is still fairly high... rather than wait longer when it will be worth less.. he traded it in and got his wiiU pre-ordered. LOL .. now in the future IF sony decides to care about it.. he can still buy back a new vita at a cheaper price!.. if not then no big loss to him.. win!

If sony doesnt care .. why should anyone else care about it.

If you were going for sarcasim or something I'm sorry but it went over my head.

If you ment for this to be serious, you are the same type of person that trolls reviews giving zeros. Now I'm not calling you a troll, but I am calling you a liar. Sure many people don't like the Vita but no one with half a brain cell should believe your "friend" went from a huge defender since launch to being disappointed by the system all because you showed him black ops.

Forbes using the word "Killer App"? I am surprised.

Cuz we all know that sales = quality

People constantly state that Dreamcast had the best launch in terms of quailty games ever. It continued getting support of great games, but that didn't save it from selling poorly.

You don't like Vita games? That's fine. But don't act like it doesn't have great games. Why do you think vita games get so many nominations? Gravity Rush goty etc. As a matter of fact, the vita does have great games. I've never liked Halo, but I would feel like a fool to deny that it's an incredible exclusive.

Uncharted:GA is the best looking handheld game to date. Now whether you prefer Rayman Origins kind of graphics (which I do) is another thing.

Hehe, it's to each his own of course.

I must admit though, Vita is more interesting to me than PSP since I basically ignored that system. At least I see myself ending up with a Vita someday, just not yet.

I didn't say it doesn't have great games though, I said that as it stands the 3DS offers 10x the quality Vita does, to me.

Plus, sales do say something at least. People see more value, and therefore 'quality' in their purchase of the 3DS.

Actually the Vita has a pretty good library for it not even being 1 year old yet. The $250 price point is perfectly reasonable for the hardware you're getting. I belive it's still being sold at a loss. So if there is a price cut, don't expect any more than $50.

in my opinion you are absolutely right - the library is not exceptional but really quite good. but still people don't want to buy it which makes me think about how sony-exclusives are respected by common people and not the guys (or girls) of the vgchartz-forum. no question, lbp and uncharted are great games, i watched a whole walkthrough on yt of uncharted and was impressed by graphics and the game itself. but as i said a while back in another thread the vita competes not only with 3ds but also with the tablet- and smartphone-market. nintendo managed to sell the 3ds as the successor of the ds which no one has in mind as a competitor to android-ios-army. this is where sony has to do a "mind-trick" to common people and deliver games which are unique to the psv. and of course, they should change this ridiculous story with their proprietary sd-cards...

Annnnnnnnnnnd he's gone again.

thats a seriously messed up rant.

The problem right now is that the whole story around the vita seems like a lie.  Tretton and Sny made a big deal of "console quality gaming on the go". So far COD, FIFA and to a degree AC have undone that statement in a pretty severe way.  The software is lacking, the price is high. How is that supposed to succeed.

With the help of people who were tricked into thinking this is 20X better than 3DS.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
