Reading your initial post, you missed

Chrono Trigger, had a sequel in Chrono Cross and that was it.

Lunar Silver Star Story, followed by Lunar Eternal Blue, nothing since (perhaps you can count that DS offshoot or remake??) Its anime cut scenes and voice acting were great (I know the cut scenes were enhanced later on).

Dragon Force, had a sequel in Japan only, was an excellent albeit repetitive at times strategy RPG, perhaps when Working Designs failed (company who localized the first one) any hope of seeing more went away?

and ofcourse we can say Baldurs Gate is missed, though I believe it was an expired license that ended that franchise after the second one and forced the third one to be an expansion to the second game.

Many of those RPGs thrived during the golden age, nowadays the western companies have taken over, many rpg publisher believe their products are archaic and those who do produce RPGs from Japan are damaging them trying to mirror their western counterparts.

So much love for nearly all of these series. But mostly Wild ARMs. God, I love Wild ARMs. Filled an RPG-sized hole in my heart that Final Fantasy left during the PS2 era.

Interesting read, thanks for linking!

No more Suikoden kills me. It had one of the best meta-storylines in gaming. I would love to know more. The concept, gathering the 108 Stars, was so absorbing.

I'd also love to see more Wild Arms and Breath of Fire games.

Also, Final Fantasy Tactics, damn it. One of the best games ever made and it can't even get a sequel.

I want turnbased battlesystem :(

Hope bravely Default: Flying Fairy get's localized to Europe

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I miss Kingdom Hearts : (

New .hack// was announced

You can add Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean and Front Mission to this list.

The first two because it doesn't look like tri-Ace will work with Square-Enix again, and the last one because that aberration called Front Mission Evolved killed it.

Shadow Hearts 2 is one of my favorite games ever... and I don't really miss the series, because it was finished, great ending etc. Series don't need to have endless sequals.

And the one that didn't follow the first 2. Shadow Hearts 3 was really mediocre.
