Yeah, just like everyone who wants Halo 4 has a 360 already... and excuse me... but what history are you talking about? I didn't know there was ever a console that cfost over 250 dollars six years after its launch.

Firstly, Halo is over twice the size of God of War. Secondly, Halo pushes consoles mainly because of its limited edition consoles, something Sony isn't nearly as known for. If Sony announced a limited edition God of War console, then you'd have a point. GoW:A can move 2-300k consoles at most, which isn't going to cause any large impact. It doesn't matter how expensive the PS3 is, a price cut isn't going to explode PS3 sales. I guess the only way to prove you wrong is just to wait and see.

So just before PS4 arrives PS3 should sit around 85m.

Doesn't seem likely. If the PS3 releases November next year, then it would need to sell 15m from now to then in order to reach your prediction. The PS3 has never sold 15m/year and its definitely not going to happen in 2013.

Lets say Q1 2014 when PS4 impact is still relatively low. I think its safe to say PS3 will set around 83-85m on Q1 2014, and will keep on selling 15m concurrently with the PS4. As PS3 sales will shift to emerging markets.

It makes no sense to release the PS4 in Q1 2014. Why would they miss a launch holiday when its only a few months away? When was the last time a console launched during the first quarter?

PS3 in Europe 2007 >_>

We're talking about initial releases >_>

Well I consider the European release the official release date, so maybe Turkish was thinking the same? It's possible they will do the same with PS4.

His exact words were " So just before PS4 arrives" so I don't think so.

I didn't say it would explode in sales. I said it would reverse the downward trend that you used as a reason for it not being able to hit the mark. I think it will make close to the 85 mil mark before the ps4 launches because I doubt it launches next year.

Microsoft surpassed that milestone some time ago. They are well over 70m by now. We'll see at the end of the year who's ahead, it's not over until the fat lady sings.

The PS3 has sold around half of what the PS2 sold thus far. It seems like a fairly solid accomplishment, if we drank to Sony's accomplishments usually we wouldn't have much to drink to however we can drink to this, Cheers!

Tease.

So what do you predict the PS3 will sell next year?

Now that all can return to relevance, let's get this party MOVin'!

Looks like a Disney Channel commercial. Are these new promo shots? Never seen them before.

I know I'm late but congratz Sony. 70 million is a milestone. Especially impressive for a 3rd place console.
Just goes to show that the first year isn't an indicator of a console success. Gives me hope for Vita.
