I love how you only have two options....There needs to be a 3rd saying no.

And no it isn't.  Steam is SOOOOOOOO much better than PSN it's not even close.

XBL hs better functions and is much easier to navigate as well as more social.

PSN is still third.  The games that I want I get so I don't need to pay extra for games I don't care about.

That is how I pretty much feel about PS+

I'm not talking about PSN, I'mma be talkin bout PS+! And content wise, I think its the greatest thing. Free games cmon son!

LOL at the poll. I keep hearing people say that you work for Sony, but I always blow them off as ridiculous gossip. But when you keep making threads/posts/polls like this, it really makes me wonder...

oh COME ON... A couple of these sensational threads and you start to wonder wether I get Sony paycheck? I'm just overly enthousiastic over the current developments regarding PS+, nothing more. If I was a Sony employee I wouldnt have time to come here, I'd be working my ass off to launch PS4 next year!

Steam is on PC and he been out wayyyyyyy before PSN Plus was ever thought of. I've been on Steam since before I got the original Xbox. Keep trying to beat down a promising product in the console realm when in the console realm it offers the most on consoles and keeps giving. To do what Microsoft with social gaming can be done easily for free, they just feel like making you pay for it.

PSN isn't even the best console online *sigh* While PS+ is nice I as well as many other people see no use for it.

And go ahead and complain about the price for XBL, still doesn't change a thing about the quality differences.

And steam is still way better than PSN so don't start hyping up PS+ like it's the best free service either.  I will even go so far as to saying Steam is just as good as XBL if not better.

Hope MS takes this approach next gen to make Gold an easier buy. Giving away 3+ year old games that have tons of DLC is a smart approach.

I do commend Sony on PS Plus.

LOL That would be considered kind from Microsoft. The represent the Amercan business model, which means you dont deserve it.

3+ year old games that nobody downloads anymore that had a fair share of DLC after their launch.

This would spur Gold purchases, increase customer satisfaction, and leverage money from seperate DLC purchasing.

Sounds American to me with only a sprinkle of kindness

Gold Purchases are forced unless you dont value online while having a 360, what are you talking about?

PS+ is a good idea but you are still paying for those games through subscriptions.  As soon as you stop paying you lose those games, so yes they are making all that money back in the long run.  Some people like it and others don't so I'm glad you like it, I just don't see the need for it for my needs.  I get better deals personally on steam than I would on PS+

PSN isn't the best online console because its community wasnt built on the notion of online games. Microsoft brought the PC gaming mentality over the consoles as they did with the PC level miltiary FPS. Thats all they've done. All Sony has been doing i adding that to what they already do. It's not that hard really, next gen they add cross chat and its square. PSN Plus needs to be expanded to make it more a demanded purchase for consumers, but for now its a great start. Xbox Live started slow last gen, but it came into its own this gen. Think about that.

P.S.

I would pay Microsoft just as easily as I have paid Sony for a premium service. I just know that online multiplayer is free and Microsoft was smart to lockdown their loyal consumers (again, this was a failure on Windows Live because the OS was open), but at the same time I dislike the notion that they would disrupt the foundation of what I pay for my internet connection to enjoy. If my connection sucks, do I not get kicked from a server? What are they offering me to keep that connection stable?

Thank god for telling me, didn't know that! Thank you kind sir for showing me what PS+ was really about!

Yeah not the greatest thing haha but it's a wonderful breath of fresh air when most developers/publishers are fixated on taking your money with overpriced items. I love playstation plus and have been a member for a while. Unfortunately I can't buy the 1-year because I'm going into the air force, so I've been getting 3 months.

With the new games coming out free for vita like Uncharted and Gravity Crash, I'm deciding on weather or not I should finally get one.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Apart from actual games, PS+ is defiantly the best to come. Anyone arguing against it being great is moronic. Sure I can understand not having the time to play its games but people who say "steam and live are better" really need to try plus for themselves. One of my favorite things with plus is early/exclusive access to betas. I'll be playing GOW Ascension this Christmas, you guys are free to watch I guess hahhaha ;)
