Forums - Sony Discussion - Is PS+ the best thing out of this generation?

The best thing and most value?

YEAHHHHHHHHHHH 102 77.27%

haven't tried it out, no :'( 30 22.73%

Total:132

Hope MS takes this approach next gen to make Gold an easier buy. Giving away 3+ year old games that have tons of DLC is a smart approach.

I do commend Sony on PS Plus.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It's the greatest thing if you can't afford many games I guess... Or if you're not selective and are happy to play whatever you get for free.

They put some great titles and the 60 minute demos are awesome. The preview betas as well worth the price as well. I like the cloud storage but I hate having to separate my saves. Its not about not being able to afford games, but I am playing games on it I probably would never have played otherwise. It just added more hours to my PS3 value.

I guess it works fo some.

I don't have time to play and discover games like that. So far this year I've played Mass effect 3, Max Payne 3, few arcade and DLC titles, Resident Evil 6 and Halo 4...that's it.

Throwing more games at me is worthless to me as I really don't have the time or will to play them.

Question. Why would you buy Plus if you dont want bonuses thrown at you?

I didn't buy it :)

I just don't see any value for me there. I was even wondering if I should cancel Xbox live Gold, but then Halo 4 came out...and yeah, I need Xbox Live for the time being.

Buying any Microsoft Exclusive is a reason to pay for Xbox Live (They are the reason Activision and EA are goig to be buying up IP's an whoring them for multiplayer). If you value those things they've got you locked down. I know very well, I just bought three extra months and my friend did as well. LOL

LOL at the poll. I keep hearing people say that you work for Sony, but I always blow them off as ridiculous gossip. But when you keep making threads/posts/polls like this, it really makes me wonder...

3+ year old games that nobody downloads anymore that had a fair share of DLC after their launch.

This would spur Gold purchases, increase customer satisfaction, and leverage money from seperate DLC purchasing.

Sounds American to me with only a sprinkle of kindness

I love how you only have two options....There needs to be a 3rd saying no.

And no it isn't.  Steam is SOOOOOOOO much better than PSN it's not even close.

XBL hs better functions and is much easier to navigate as well as more social.

PSN is still third.  The games that I want I get so I don't need to pay extra for games I don't care about.

Fight Club quote-"Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need."
That is how I pretty much feel about PS+

I dunno, PSN Plus is the only premium online service that was created this gen, it has shown an alternative to what people think a "premium" service should be about to some, but of course it wont be for all.

Steam is on PC and he been out wayyyyyyy before PSN Plus was ever thought of. I've been on Steam since before I got the original Xbox. Keep trying to beat down a promising product in the console realm when in the console realm it offers the most on consoles and keeps giving. To do what Microsoft with social gaming can be done easily for free, they just feel like making you pay for it.  Valve is also putting their games and Sony and cross-platforming with them because Sony opens up their online to them. Theres more that can be achieved and if theres left 4 dead 3 you know where its going to be the best (PC/PS3).
