Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you want an Timesplitters HD collection?

Well that might happen if the petition for it reaches 300.000 signatures!

The interview with Crytek's CEO, Cevat Yerli:

Quote:
I’m sure you get this question a lot, but is Timesplitters a franchise still very beloved at Crytek? A lot of people hope you’ll eventually return to it. Can you speak to that at all?

There is actually a petition running online trying to bring the fan base together. But unfortunately the petition doesn’t look that convincing unfortunately. If the petition picks up it will be an even better argument for us. At a personal level, I’m a big fan of Timesplitters 2. For me, I would love to see the game out there, as a newborn HD version or what not. I definitely would love to see it. But the case of turning this into a business decision is still difficult, despite the fact that there was a Twitter request feed to test the waters. And now the petition, it just seems to be as we expected, as it was when it was Free Radical.

There’s a very hardcore market that is very verbal about it. I would love to see this, and if the fan base approves a further petition. They’re trying to call 300,000 voices, I think it’s at two or three thousand right now. If they could get the petition together I would be very happy to put in front of decision makers in the company, the key stakeholders, and say “Look here. This is how it is, let’s make it now.”

Oh god yes. I love TS2 to bits.

Yea I think this will easily get 300k supporters. The petition was posted on IGN.

Timesplitters was great in it's day but I think it's day is done. An online HD collection for would be nice. Not sure it'd sell sufficiently though and obviously neither is Crytek. Maybe HD versions will be made into downloadable content next gen.

Crytek wants it but that decision is made by the publisher. Timesplitters did so much right (especially the second one) that I am still hoping for a new game. A lot of variety in gameplay, bots!, fun to play mission that change on the difficulty settings, lots to unlock and amazing challenges...

Meh, I just think there are better games to have the HD makeover first.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

A Crytek TimeSplitters would be guaranteed to be awesome.   The series has been M.I.A. so long now that they'd need to do a HD collection re-release first and gage interest and re-establish the brand.   But I'm not sure a new TS would sell sufficiently in this over-saturated FPS environment. How many would buy TS4 instead of (or on top of) the next CoD/Borderland/Battlefront/Halo/Far Cry etc?   Even Unreal and Metal of Honor have fallen to the wayside.   At any rate, a collection should be profitable to produce.  Hope they get the 300,000 sigs.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
