Evidently, Nintendo is charging us gamers premium for an old game on a dead console.

Why are you not outraged?

What good will being outraged do?

Not like it will cause the price to drop.

If the game is selling well enough for Nintendo at that price point than that is their choice.

I am enraged, but nobody listens.
And, LBP is not the superior platformer.
What makes LBP great is the editor function.

Sony always sells there games really cheap, I got lbp vita on launch date for NZ $48 when every other game non sony retails for $60-89.

Nintendo games keep the high price longer because people are willing to pay those prices for these games. We can't say the same about LBP though, people aren't willing to pay as much for it past 6 months. As for LBP being a better game is purely subjective.

Whether or not one game is better than the other has nothing to do with pricing. Nintendo and Sony are trying to run a business. When your product is in demand, you can charge a premium for it. When your product starts to slip from the spotlight, you drop the price to boost sales. Obviously Nintendo is very happy with NSMB sales and sees no reason to lower the price. Sony sees LBP sales dropping below what they'd like to see and drops the price to increase sales. That's just how business works.
