We'd be better off if Califonria left.  GDP of France but the balance sheet of Greece.

Should let Cali scede, go bankrupt then reabsorb it.

I am amazed that it isn't talked about more. CA has so much going for it in the way of natural advantage being on the coast. But we are in one of the worst postions economicaly and we keep voting in the same people with the same ideas. CA is an example of where the nation is headed if we dont start fixing ourselves. Too much regulation, too many taxes, too many handouts. Its amazes me the rest of the nation doesn't see this, and i am even more amazed that we CA keep voting in the same people. How many cities have gone bankrupt now in CA? How many more will.

Not just natural advantage but outright built in previous advantage.  Hollywood and Silicon Valley will be hard to mvoe.

It's crazy the state is in such dire straights.

It should be interesting to see what a democratic supermajority does.

Living in CA i am really scared what may happen now. We have already been loosing jobs to other states, and I am sure this will add to regulation and taxes. I would move but all of my family is here, and it is a beautiful state with the coast/mountains/desert.

So now that there's a couple of petitions to deport everyone who signed a petition in favor of secession, I've taken the liberty of creating a petition to deport all of those people.

Watch out they might counter you with another petition.

Deport me if you so bad!

Regardless of what side of any of these issues you fall -- it shows how easy it is to gather "signatures" in the Internet age. I wonder how many of the people signing these petitions can be verified to actually be eligible to sign them (registered voter in that state).

This also shows why companies pretty much ignore petitions from gamers.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

This just goes to show that people will be upset no matter what happens.

Not sure if those people were serious, but then again we can't be too sure that anyone making these petitions is serious, since they're all for stuff that is highly unconstitutional

I feel like this is appropriate

Wouldn't 'i dont wanna live in this country anymore' be more appropriate?

77,000 signatures for Texas alone in 4 days.  They have a good shot of getting to 300,000 to 500,000 by the due date of December 9th.

after adding up all the signees of the states I got about 500,000 signatures to get their state to have their own goverment.  So why not just give them North Dakota who have a population around 800.000 to make everybody happy.

With these numbers I think there is a good chance of 1 million signatures combined by the due date of December 9.
