Halo 4 launched worldwide with large sales figures predicted after much critical acclaim.

Executive producer for Halo 4, Kiki Wolfkill, said 343 Industries has a big vision for Halo going forward so future games might not be limited to first-person shooters.

"We've always had a big vision for Halo and the universe and we look at ourselves as not just a games studio but an IP studio," she told CVG.

"The first-person shooter is the best place to tell one kind of story but as you can see from Forward Unto Dawn and stuff like that, there are other parts of the story that are interesting to tell in different ways.

"I think we'd look at what the most interesting genre, medium, delivery and mechanism is to tell a certain story, and if it moves the IP forward in an interesting way we'll do it."

Forward Unto Dawn is a live-action video series set in the Halo world, with Wolfkill adding that 343 Industries wants to see Halo encompass all the good things about Star Wars.

"Forward Unto Dawn allowed us to explore characters a little bit differently and tell a different kind of story - and that is interesting to us. We want Halo as a universe to grow and evolve and be a Star Wars... all the good parts about Star Wars!"

Horrible thoughts of the prequels aside, I'd be thrilled to see more expansion of the franchise beyond the gaming sphere. They did well with Forward Unto Dawn, so why not keep going with things, especially if they're going to control it themselves and keep it reasonable? Couldn't hurt, I figure.

Energy swords? vs Gravity hammers? hrmm.....

Anyway there was one scene in Halo 4 that played a Star Wars like music track with a Star Wars like view. Lol

Anyway, after Halo 4. I wouldn't care what 343 Industries do with Halo. I know it will be good.

LOL...Halo...evolving into Star Wars? Microsoft needs to buy Bioware.

Hmm haven't played halo 4 yet, so i cant make a judgement. Hopefully they can fulfill their vision.
Personally i believe, Mass effect trilogy has created a universe that is far more interesting than star wars.

Halo has always been like another Star Wars to me. What I love about Star Wars is it's rich back story and detailed universe. I feel the same about Halo. 343i has done for Halo what Bungie aspired to yet never attained. Halo is a franchise worthy of it's many medium.

Besides being in space how is it like Starwars? Halo is just a military shooter in space. Starwars is a sci-fi/Fantasy themed story that is about chosen warriors connection with the force with borderlined religious undertones. They live in a universe that struggles to find harmony between the spiritual and technological. Halo has nowhere near the depth. The closest thing to Star Wars this gen was Mass Effect and we all know it was made off of the back of KOTOR.

Ok then

I think that is good. Considering that the SW prequel trilogy is a piece of crap.

Hey I'm down, Halo Legends, all of the stuff on Waypoint and Foward Unto Dawn, the couple of novels that I read (minus the Flood) and so on are all awesome....gimme moar.
