Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which games do you defend the most?

Uncharted: Drakes fortune, ppl keep saying its boring and lame and they dont want to play the sequels because of it

Around the Network

None of them, I don't take them that seriously to the point I'd care to defend them. I also don't care whether others attack a game that I liked as it isn't gonna affect me liking the game.

I still think VG Chartz should change the Uncharted 2 review score, 9.2!? bah!

Probably Perfect Dark Zero. I loved playing that game and still go back from time to time for its great gameplay and visuals (apart from the literally 'shitty' looking mountains).

It does get pretty tough at times though since the great majority of people's complains are justified.

-Shen Mue
-Resident Evil 5 + 6 (i have one friend who wouldn't play 5 because he wasn't allowed to shoot and run at the same time... he certainly missed hours of entertaining coop-gameplay and cheesy Wesker-dialog)
-Final Fantasy V,X-2 and XIII (so many people disliked X-2 for its dull story but completly oversaw the motivating job-system)
-Guitar Hero/Rock Band (people keep on thinking, they need to explain that the gameplay is far from playing a real instrument - so what? it is still fun)
-Pokémon obviously
-BlazBlue (some people people wonder how there are still 2D-games in the 21st century; i actually have one friend who literally had to laugh when I showed him the game, because he thaught all my praising for the game with its great visuals were in fact ironic, though he stopped laughing when he realised I was actually serious ^^) and fighting games in general when people don't understand what makes them great

-Retrogaming in general, because of shitty graphics

bizarre-galaxy.de - My Browsergame, but sadly only in german :(

You can play as an octopus, though!

LOL, that's why I stopped playing Resident Evil 5. What a garbage game, with horrible gameplay. Just all static based, with shitty camera angles/control. Totally takes away from the fun of the game, or of what it could be.. So I don't blame your friend, cause in my eyes, he saved himself money from a disaster of a game. With that though, the lack of zombies is trash. Resident Evil isn't a horror game at all anymore, nor a zombie game. Sad..

Forza Motorsport 3, and to an extent 4. With Gran Turismo 5 being the "brand name" in sim racers, and myself being a huge car nut, I find myself defending Forza Motorsport 3 a lot. The fact of the matter is Forza Motorsport 3 is the best racing sim. Compared to what was released before it, Forza 3 was huge. It had the most HD cars of any racing game, the most advanced physics, in car camera's on all cars, a really great variety of cars, and every car in the game was a real car. No knock off Ferrarri's or Porsches because Turn 10 couldn't get the licence.

Gran Turismo 5 was a great game, but it wasn't supperior to Forza Motorsport 3, at least not outside to world of Japanese cars, and this was a shame because it did release a year later and had such a long development cycle. Forza Motorsport 4 also wasn't that huge of an upgrade over FM3, and lost Porsche (initially, but a year later you got a half filled Porsche roster at a premium). So although GT5 and FM4 are better sims then Forza Motorsport 3, for the time FM3 was the best sim by far, and still is a better game to GT5 and FM4.

Lost Odyssey - it's an under-rated JRPG. Out of all the JRPG's this gen, this game is by far the best, much much better then Final Fantasy XIII with its automatic battles, better then XenoBlade with its hours of travel time with nothing happening, and I would even argue it's better then Valkyria Chronicles.

Gran Turismo (psp) - The game serves a purpose. It might lack a career mode, a weird car buying system which only lets you buy some cars on specific dates, and the graphics might not be anything special, but hey with 800 cars or so and a good physics simulator, this game serves its purpose. It's Gran Turismo on the go, and just racing to collect cars is fun enough.

Gears of War - Maybe, I don't really see this game getting attacked that much, and after 3 (which concluded the primary story arch), I don't care for the genre anymore, but I think I would defend Gears of War 1 & 2 if they were attacked.

The Last Story - People don't really attack it, as much as they don't care for it, but it's a great game which I always include in best RPG arguements and see people try to ignore.

Too Human, Vanquish, Fire Emblem series, Front Mission series, Infinite Undiscovery, I dunno what else. Most of these games are just niche games which people ignore, and they don't really get attacked, people just like to ignore them on lists and such and when I mention them, the just say they aren't important.

This is the Game of Thrones

or you DIE

Oh, I forgot Wind Waker. I actually got into an argument with someone at GameStop when I overheard him complaining about the sailing being "boring."

I don't think I've ever defended a game, I don't care what other people think I guess.
