Probably so since Google pulled up nothing with a search on big budget Wii 3rd party titles.  3rd parties produce pretty damn good games sometimes but if you only buy Nintendo consoles then you don't really put that much faith in them since the GCN era or so.  I like a few third party companies (mainly Capcom due to MH, SF, RE) but I really don't give a damn about them or count on them.  I am expecting one thing when I buy a Nintendo console (Nintendo IPs).  If Nintendo wasn't Nintendo then they would be Atari (aka dead).  Then you have third party companies bitching about their games not selling when everyone knows that they probably didn't put the effort into them (Wii generation).  So Nintendo barely releases any of their first party games on 3DS (and most that they released were either niche new IPS (Steel Diver) or ports (Star Fox, OoT).  3DS gets off to a bad start then they released 3D Land and Mario Kart and guess what.... the 3DS sells (with the help of a little price drop too and a 3DS XL release).  3DS sales didn't start taking off till 3D Land and MK7.  Case in point Nintendo shouldn't count on anyone but themselves.  Sure PS1/PS2 took off due to third party support.  However, with barely any 3rd party support Nintendo won this gen due solely to themselves.

Just want to point out the key differences.

1. It support the same resulation as the nextgen twins. 1080p and people don't have tv's that support more than this and won't until very late in the Wiiu's 6 year lifecycle.

2. The Wii came out after the 360 had been out for an entire year and was way behind graphically the day it came out. The Wiiu is the most powerfull console of all time the day it launches and will remain as such for a at least one year.

3. The wii was only approx on par with the original xbox. The Wiiu is roughly twice the power as xbox 360.

4. The Wiiu already has about as many core 3rd party games announced for it as it did the entire wii lifecylce.

5. The wiiu has a decent online gaming setup wheras the original wii did not.

6. The Wiiu features controller which have all the multiplay analog sticks and buttons unlike the original wii which did not support the industry standard in this regard.

So yes it will be under powered compared to the nextgen twins but it certainly will not be the same situation as nintendo faced last gen. They will be able to please many core games with their console. Graphics are not everything. 32 million people have signed up to play League of Legends on PC which isn't by any means a graphical marvel but still is a massively popular hardcore game.  There is a huge market of core games out there who will either buy a wiiu and a ps4 or 360 or will be happy with just a wiiu for 6 years.

I call those smudges and the top screen gets two lines on the left and right (from the bottom screen liner that sticks up).  I can still see my Swapnote writings on the bottom screen unless I wipe it off.  I wonder if the 3DS XL gets those smudges too.  Anyways, you can ignore my post consider I know you were just bsing about people bitching about systems.

I know the 2 lines you are talking about well, my wife used a soft cloth that you get with pairs of glasses and put it between the screens of hers when closing it I.... don't do anything with mine, just open it up wipe off the 2 marks if it's been closed and then get back to firing birds at pigs... 30 hours of Angry birds trilogy now it's gone past my play time to get 5 shiny stars in Super Mario 3d land I feel bad for me :D. And yeah of course I was just listing the OTT claims people make when they hear of a hardware flaw.

A while back my wife actually upgraded to the XL so I could ask her about the screens smudges later on and let you know but I know she's not used the Glass's cloth since getting the XL so it's either not an issue with it or she's just taken to my practice of not caring.

Perhaps some people who will buy a playstation 4 at some stage in a few years time have already encountered their console at some point in the past thanks to Sonys fantastic work with their Calenders being able to travel back to 1999 on leap years?

Time travel is logically the only way they could know the true specs of the future machines and I fear the Ps4 and it's successors have all shown up in the past at various points in human history.
