GT5 is the best racing game ever made and yet people let Nintendo get away with charging a premium on its casual Mario Kart Wii.

Why are you not outraged as a gamer?

Gran Turismo may have a lot of licenses and stuff in it, but it is also very boring. A great number of people love Mario Kart, and consider it one of the best games of all time. More people prefer to spend full price on Mario Kart than to waste money on a discounted game they find boring.

You can call Mario Kart "casual/dumb" all you want, but that sort of sentiment is irrelevant in the real world where people find Mario Kart both more fun and more satisfying than Gran Turismo. This has led Mario Kart to being a far more successful game franchise.

This reminds me that we are going to have another epic (epic, I say!) match of Mario Kart Wii this weekend. Also, Galaki, did you just freak out at some point or something? I remember you making serious posts in the past

Really? I find GT much more fun than mario kart. In fact, mario kart is very boring. Guess I am not living in the real world, whatever that might be.

I don't mind paying for quality.

Just because the competition feel the need to cut the price of their products that doesn't mean Nintendo should as well. If Nintendo can stay competitive despite a higher price that means the product is not overpriced.
